Great tutorial, one issue of note is when saving the EXR files, be sure to save the file name as one word or have an underline between two or more words as Resolve won't recognize the EXR file names with spaces between words... Yes it took some head scratching to figure that out because of course when I saved my Fast Fog EXR files I made the mistake of using a space and I made multiple attempts of import which were unsuccessful, close and opened Resolve a few times which didn't change anything and then it dawned on me to re export the EXR files with a new name and bingo, all is well.

Thank you very much for this great tutorial! The fog, you've created is fantastic natural. I have a question about the fog: How can I create the effect, that the fog is coming from right and is moving down to the left, as if the fog seeing on the camera is disappearing backwards into the frame.

This is a great tutorial thank you! I've been trying to figure out how to make the end result look like we're walking INTO the fog. So it starts in the distance and moves toward and then past us. I'm sure it must involve inserting the Camera3D in here but I'm struggling with it. If you have any quick tips for this I'd welcome them!

Is there anything can be done regarding that the particles shouldn't flicker when they coming into contact with the 3D objects? This happened after you'd introduced the turbulence. My guess is that the particles flying through the letters from an angle to the camera, and as soon as the mid point is inside the letter the whole texture disappears, and then reappears when the mid point resurfaces on the other side. Also, I made a camera animation based on this tutorial. Same particle effect and the 3D camera is flying through the cloud. Problem is that as soon as the camera passes a particle, latter is vanishing in an instant. Can it be faded to disappear in front of the camera instead, so it looks natural? Thank you!

Hi Kerry, interesting Tutorial, can you also please create a 3D Snow Effect in Fusion ?
@FilmmakerCentral4 жыл бұрын
That would just be a change in the direction of the flow and changing the image from the FastNoise created "blob" to a snowflake.

Great. A small query regarding chroma key. I am using Da Vinci Resolve 15. While chroma keyed layer is shrunken or reduced after chroma key it shrinks background layer as well. It's annoying especially in compositing. Any solution?
@FilmmakerCentral5 жыл бұрын
If you start with your footage and later add a fog effect, you should be fine, The order that things are added can determine the project resolution and you may need to manually set that in some nodes to prevent issues. If you are only doing ChromaKey, you shouldnt have any issues.

Also I spotted that in the media pool it says [0000-0000] next to the opened exr file. It to me means that only the first frame is opened. And if I watch closely I can see that all the puffs are identical. All of them. :( I left out the saver node, fed the Fast Noise straight into the pEmitter (didn't seem to choke my rig at all with proxies), but I can't make it produce unique particles in one frame no matter what I try (animate at particle birth time, etc). Is there any way I can do this? I can make it render different texture on different frames, but all the particles emitted in one frame look identical. Can't I make all of them unique somehow? Thank you!
@KerryGarrison5 жыл бұрын
Hmmmm.....yeah, it should have imported them as a sequence. I will look into this.
@Teasuti5 жыл бұрын
@@KerryGarrison easy fix though, just open all the files. Regarding the other issue, looks like pEmitter will take only one sample per frame, so all the particles will look exactly the same emitted in one frame. :(

@@Teasuti You need to set a keyframe at the beginning and end and change some settings to get some variety.

Handy, thanks. Mind you, my fog disappears when I switch from the Software renderer. Fast Noise is good but do you think the Fog tools would work for this look?
