I am also a part time artist working a full time "big girl job" (I work in recreation therapy tho) and it is so refreshing & motivating to see vlogs from other artists who are making it work part time. thanks for another great vlog katie!! 🌞

Ok thank you for being one of the few KZbin art people who’s like “yea I have a full time job”. Not to knock having art be a full time job but sometimes I feel like some people see it as the only way to be “serious” as an artist etc. Like having a side job, full time job, no job shouldn’t dictate your arts legitness~*. I feel like this is also why I connect with your work so much❤ ok end rant!

So nice to see this! I am also in marketing and illustrate children’s books on the side. I find it hard sometimes to watch full-time artists without being envious :) thank you for sharing a life that looks a lot more like my own!

Thank you for the video! I have a full-time job unrelated to art and writing, but i am working on my creative projects (novel, KZbin, coloring books) on the side 😊👍

This is seriously a fresh of breath air. I always felt like when I introduce myself as an artist to others, there's this expectation that I must be making a living solely from my art. I aspire to get to that point in my life, but honestly I love the security of having a job. I get more stressed if bills aren't getting paid. It just sucks to the joy of creating if I feel pressure to make ends meet with my art. One step at a time. This isn't meant to discourage other aspiring artists from making a living on their art. For me, having a job provides structure and efficiency to afford basic living expenses. And I can take the skills I learned from a job to apply to building my business. I am seeking remote work in the long run and hope to save up enough in case I make the big step to work for myself. As of now, I'm content as is. Thank you for sharing!

I find it easier to create art while having a job ☺️ if I don't have a job and stay home all day I just end up in bed depressed

I love how realistic this was and especially as another artist working full time, it’s so nice to see someone else do it and actually show it. Subscribed!

The balancing part of your full-time job and artist life is amazing. It's a challenge for me because most of the time I'd rather be relaxing, lol. But working on becoming better at it! If you're starting to get into KPop, I recommend checking out EXO. They've been around for 10 years and currently in hiatus as a group because the members are finishing up their military enlistment. They do have a lot of solo work in the last two years, so there's so many you can go through. Songs I recommend to listen to: Growl, Paradise, Love Shot, Boomerang, Drop That (personal favorites mostly, but no matter which song you pick it'll be good). Interesting enough, the person whose question you last answered was probably an EXO-L (fandom name) given their username, hehe. Do check out BAE173 as well. They've been around for less than two years, but some of their members have been performing for few years.

So appreciate seeing another 9-5 full time /part time artist making it work for them!!! It can be hard to relate or take the advice of full time artists like I wish I could build my own schedule but it’s not possible 😭

Same for me! I also have an office full time job, remote of course, but you inspire me to try my very best to do my art job in the same time, usually I do art stuff in the evenings or weekends but I really want to manage my time better. Loved the vlog!

OMG I worked in insurance as my first "big girl job" and then moved into property management at student communities. The marketing was SO fun because it was a young demographic and interesting marketing, fun promo, etc. so DEF look into it, if you decide you need a change. I'm planning to start an art business soon, and videos like this give me so much hope!

Never would have guessed you did marketing for an insurance company specifically. I’ve been an insurance agent for the past 12 years and it is sooooo draining. So ready to walk away next year and go back to school.

is your job fully remote? When I had my marketing job it was hard to do anything productive with my hour break, so I would use it to go in my car and get some sleep, it was exhausting. Watching ur vlogs is super relatable to those chaotic times, I never wanna go back to marketing lol, its 5 jobs in one
