You have such a positive attitude with everything. It's so refreshing to see this with such realistic footage of motherhood. I can imagine you make a lot of mothers feel seen. Really enjoy your videos 🙂

Hi Shan! Just wanted to say, my daughter is 13 months old and bum shuffler too, she’s recently started nursery as I returned to work when she was 1 and she absolutely LOVES it. It’s really helped her development especially her gross motor skills. She’s now able to stand if you prop her up which she refused to do before. Have faith. You’re doing the right thing for you and your baby girl. She will thrive and love it! ❤

When I was young (born 1981) we had 2 channels for kids programmes, after school for 2 hours, BBC 1and ITV ! When my parents got sky and we had access to Nickelodeon.... oh wow I thought all my Christmases had come at once! 😂😂 xx

I think two days a week at nursery is a really good balance. It gets them socialised and a bit more independent and you still have her for 5 days a week 😊

Great video Shan. My 3 year old havent been to nursery yet. I feel very scared of letting her go for some reason. She be in school soon too. Im a stay at home mum so she and her 1 year old brother have always been home with me.

I’m one or two videos behind again but just needed to say the work/childcare chat spoke to me so much. How do all you working mums do it ?😩 I’m struggling so much 5 weeks into returning from mat leave (teaching 4 days a week). The juggle is making me miserable and feel I’m doing a terrible job in all aspects of life! Anyway, thanks for speaking about the challenges of all the different types of set ups and really hope yours works for you Shan and Halle loves nursery! Xx

Hi shan. My toddler calls you “mummy”. She says “that’s a mummy”. Been watching your videos since 2022 and she has pretty much seen you since she was born (says a lot about my screen time rules aye). I cannot count how many times I have watched your videos. Such an inspiration and you are so young. I really admire you. Hope you continue to thrive in this influencer era of yours as you have certainly influenced a lot of people.

My middle kid started last September so is in yr 1 now. She's a December baby so one of the older ones (handy for both my girls as they are both short) When my first started I was so nervous and sad at the end of an era but I had a 2 3/4 old at home and I loved our time together. When my middle started last year my youngest was 1 1/2 and was so wonderful to have so much time with him. I've stayed a stay at home mum since my first was born as my wages would of paid for childcare and left barely anything if at all and fortunately my husband earns good money. My girls loved school, it comes with new challenges and friendship dynamics as they grow and advocating for them with teachers etc. but the amazing things they learn and the experiences they have are fantastic. And the first nativity 🥺🥰 Uniform is expensive but most schools do a second hand shop. M&s definitely been best quality and lasted well. I've got 2 girls and boy at home so the uniform was passed down to middle kid.

I always wonder why you cook such small portions for dinner? You’re always saying you have no time to do anything, so why not cook more for dinners to save time making lunch the next day or even to save for dinners in the week. I don’t have children, but whenever I make pasta or anything, I make at least 5/6 portions so my partner and I can have leftovers. I noticed the same in your butter bean video, only one tin of beans when you could have done more tins and had it again the next day.

Whist I was thinking of being self employed for my small side business, I was forced into it when redundancy came in May. I now have two small streams of income, one being a cute kids clothing brand which I LOVE working on. As a result of being SE, I've taken my son out of nursery an extra day so I've got 3 days SE work and then 4 days with him. Money isn't the same as it was when I was in a well paid full time but condensed hour job, but the stress differences are wild. I have SO much more time with my 2.5 year old, I can work in the evenings, in my time, I can work and keep things ticking over when he's home. I also don't work every second of the day making up for lost hours when he's sick or on leave from nursery. It's a win win for me and the family right now. I just hope I can get the business covering the bills before April when my SE savings pot runs out. Should it not work for us financially, I'll return to full time employment when he goes to School. Knowing I'll never get these years back with him makes it all worth it.

Looking to go down to 3 days a week when my son starts school next year and stretch the hours over 4 days so i can be around for drop offs and pick ups ...my husband works away and u dont want to use wrap around care when hes still so young itll ve exhausting for him. this is what is right for our family BUT im really not loving accepting the loss in salary for me as i feel im loosing my independence...yes hubby supports me but its a bittersweet pill to swallow when ive also worked hard for my career. Then the guilt...of feeling this way when i should feel grateful for having the option to have a bit more time with the little kids.... Gad. Great video shan

I'm glad to hear you talking about the TV. The choice thing and not having to wait is having a bad affect on all of us. It's just not talked about very much. I've seen a huge difference since I took the tablet off my daughter and bring it out once in a blue moon. The TV is the next thing that's gonna have to go coz it's just too hard to police ha

Ahhhh I'm in the same boat!! My little boy is the last of his friends in nursery and he's having to make new friends with the younger kiddies. He's also not enjoying it too much! I have absolutely no idea about schools etc. for next year so I need to look into the deadlines for enrolment. Actually, a video on that / what you're doing would be really useful from another mothers perspective!

My little boy starts next year but he’s only just turned 3 really! So I feel a bit worried he won’t be ready emotionally as he’s still very much in the toddler phase. My daughter started as an older one like George- and it was a smooth transition and she was ready! Fingers crossed the same for you with George! 🤞🏼

We only let our 4 year old watch cbeebies for that reason. She would want to watch the same films and programmes on repeat constantly and become so fixated on them and it would really effect her mood. But now with cbeebies, if there's something she doesnt want to watch we switch it off and find something else to do, colouring puzzles etc. The 90s were a simpler time 😂

My grandson’s birthday is August so he started reception a week after his 4th birthday and attends reception from 9:00am to 3.15pm. Absolutely shattered when he gets home but bath and bed and fast asleep by 7:00am for 12 hours.

My eldest grandson was born in early December 2020 and here in 🇨🇦 he has just started Junior kindergarten in the local primary school. In 🇨🇦 it is the calendar year. So any child born in 2020 starts school in 2024. I feel he is young but he is so tall so doesn’t look young. He has been in daycare since he was 18 months old so he is used to the routine but the drop off at the big school was an adjustment.

Why don’t you get Hallie a walker to sit in so she can at least whizz around in a walker and this way she is using her legs to push herself around in the walker & it will build her upper muscle strength to her legs and thighs & her feet etc 🫶🏻💖
