I love this map because well played armor can be an absolute hammer on this map. With proper support on the canyon sides and a couple squads of infantry with the tank or Bradley, you can easily rack up 75+ kills as people funnel in through the canyon right into your gunsights. I had one of the best IFV games of my life on this map. Our team was extremely coordinated against a decent enemy team. Command squad was advancing with us and providing infantry support, squad 1 was the tank and they were on top of the canyon providing armor cleanup and absolutely wrecking their supply lines, squad 2 and 3 were on opposite sides of the canyons, squad 4 was a 6 man super fobbing and providing some of the most effective mortar fire I’ve ever seen, and squad 5 and 6 were 4 men squads flip flopping between hab cleanup and advancing with command squad. That along with coordinated and experienced heli pilots got our guys all round the map while still maintaining constant defense and pressure against a competent enemy team led to a great game. In the end we just had good control over their supply lines and quickly shot down their Helis for an early ticket lead. They also didn’t have as good cover from the canyon sides while we did which left their vehicles and infantry vulnerable to flanking attacks

The explosions in this game are so unbelievably good. Love that a fireball is present in vehicle explosions because the fuel but not as present in other other scenarios, no game comes close to this in terms of realism, special effects and tactics.

I gotta be honest. Conceptually, watching a sports commentator style narration of an FPS/MilSim game was not something I thought I'd find interesting but I was totally wrong. I don't have a PC that can run games like this with any fidelity so I've never been able to play Squad but I have loosely followed it's development all the way back to Project Reality Mod in the BF2 days and I'm SO stoked for what it's become. I literally can't find a way to express my amazement concisely because there are too many features worth praising. It's gorgeous, dynamic and super detailed. Watching that T72 cook off was incredible. As for the video itself, major kudos to MoiDawg. You do a great job explaining the match, I understood the context of the huge map even as someone who hasn't played yet. I dig the polished commentator style. I mean, who hasn't wanted to watch war in real time on ESPN?? (Disclaimer, that's a joke, war is pretty much always a crime, is full of atrocities and sucks in every way). For someone too broke to buy a slick PC to play, this is about as good as it gets to enjoy Squad content. Sorry for the essay but I'm seriously surprised by how enjoyable this was to watch. Looking forward to more!!

I was a Dragon gunner during the Gulf war. We carried SMAWS. There was no role for the Dragons in Gulf I given the proliferation of support, TOWS, Arty, the terraine and ranges involved. SMAWs were useful for some of the close quarters in oil fields, trenches and facilities. They have since been replaced by the javelins which don't require a crew and are more powerful, grunt proof and take less of a learning curve for the capability

I am not a Squad player, but I have been thinking of picking up the game. I really appreciate this style of content as it not only provides a ton of entertainment but also the amount game play that is required to be successful when competing in these matches. I played a lot of Planetside and Planetside2 and really enjoyed the combined arms aspect of that game. However, it was hard to find dedicated players that wanted to work together as a coordinated team over a long period. This game however, seems to be different in regards to the ticket system which I'm learning about through these videos. One question I have is regarding the armour fights. Why would a tank driver not move after 1,2 or three shots? It seems to me the strength of those vehicles would be in the shoot and scoot maneuver, not sitting in one stationary spot firing over and over and over drawing huge attention to yourself once you've fired. Maybe one of the drivers from this game could provide some feedback. Anyways, love the content MoiDawg and the play by play commentary. It all depends on the map, layer and team! So reasons why? Map: each map has it own layout and design, some are Dogshit for armor others are perfect for armor! Why u might ask? Well some give tanks and other armor types possibilities to have long but also close range fight because of proper terrain and sight line design. And then u have the ones where u have to fear every fucking little places around u for sneaky light or heavy anti tank guys and c4 or mines! So now that bit is kinda clear lets have a chat about Layers: Well they kinda determine what game mode it is and so what vehicles are available to use, which in term kinda determines together with the map what tactics are smart options since they determine what u are facing and kinda where on the map in that layer. Which can in turn open up or close of sight lines and routes. And now as last is the team! And this might even be more important then all the other knowledge or equal, why? Because if u have a good pilot(or logi squad) like we had u can get quick repairs and ammo in the field, which saves u from a 10 min round trip to main! plus other squads can help u locate enemies and help defend u from enemies! Ps: this map(anvil) has just really hard terrain unless u have driven it to often and know the spots, so once u got a spot it’s kinda nice to stay there

Hey it all depends on what the crew, crew commander and game commander has on their mind at that moment. You can justify standing stationary when you want to deliver accurate fire, support the infantry or attract heat. But usually it's just target fixation lol

But like I said before some maps like this also just make it hard to move around, for example the t-72 that got killed after the btr in the middle of the map I just could kill because of the stupid tree and moving around would have probably taken more time then the tow just because I had to move, find a sight line before he saw me while I knew he was tracked in the middle of infantry! So I thought I was better worth my time to sit there hammering there 2 habs I could see and maybe up coming helo’s or vehicles
