I love how clean it is. I see so many of these on KZbin that are filled with trash. You can live small and be clean.

Somehow it doesn't feel small. I love how uncluttered it is. I am starting a decluttering project at home and this is very inspiring

Hey Mel, thanks for your room tour. I think it would be nice if you went into more detail about the other random things you have - for example what you have on your kitchenette counter.

This is interesting, because I also pay 1.000.- (Euro) a month for my apartment in Germany. Well, what can I say (in comparison), yours is smaller, but much more tasteful than mine :-)

Interesting. Mel, did you know that bedrooms began getting smaller (and houses, in general) the less time ppl began spending in them? This began occurring prior to the turn of the century. The implication is that, at some point, ppl spent significant amounts of time(past sleeping) in their rooms… lifestyle implications, as well…spending patterns, eating habits, social contact, everything…

Thanks for this video! Can I ask how you found this place? Was it through estate agents? I’m planning to move to HK so would appreciate you sharing your experience with the search process, it looks like you managed to land a really nice place!
@melkiway2 жыл бұрын
I used a facebook group called "HONG KONG RENT". Most of the listings on there are posted by agents. If you see a place you like, send a message, and usually an agent will reply pretty quickly. I'd suggest going for viewings during the daytime to see how much natural light there is. I made the mistake of viewing this room at night, and didn't realize how little sunlight it gets. You really have to pay attention to details and look out for yourself because most agents want to rush and close the deal. Also, it appears that the HK rental market has struggled a bit over the past 1-2 years (people moving away), so you probably have the upper hand right now for any negotiations. :) The standard practice for renting is paying 1/2 months rent to the agent as commission (unless otherwise stated), 2 months rent deposit to the landlord (returned to you when you leave), and also sign the lease for a minimum of 1 year. Thank you for watching!!

Does the window over your bed open? Does it look out onto anything? Can you hear the neighbors through the walls?
@melkiway2 жыл бұрын
The window opens, but the airflow is poor and there's no view or sunlight, so it actually feels better just to leave it shut! Noise can be heard from neighbours in the other rooms occasionally, but overall everyone has been really considerate so it hasn't been much of a problem :)

Can I ask the location of the room? It looks tiny but is definitely well equipped and has everything you need! Not too bad considering living in hk I’d say
