Another tip is to not act very excited to do the trade. This will make the other person think they're overpaying and will decline. Just act casual and you can be excited at the end (i don't recommend but u can)

Sometimes its better to act really excited. (Ex: if its your dp and you said that and you aren't overpaying, this makes the person likely accept more.)

A random tip: Don’t let people rush you when trading, so many times I’ve basically gotten scammed because the person I’m trading with is rushing me and making me feel nervous/guilty. Take your time to make sure you want the trade, even friend the person so you can let them know later on if your doing the trade

Also try to get lesser known pets! For example I had a steppe lion and an orangutan and I offered them to a person. They offered back an old penguin and told me to remove the orangutan so I got one more pet!
