What is your favorite concept for the future of the Inner Loop? Should the expressway be completely removed from the city? Let me know what you think below!

As a former Rochesterian, your detail and accuracy is spot on. One thing to keep in mind as you expand to the north with your infrastructure, where the railroad passes over St. Paul, Clinton, Joseph, Hudson, North, and Scio streets, there is not enough under-clearance for trucks to pass through. The only place the trucks can safely pass under is State Street. I used to work in Emergency Response in Rochester, spending 12 hours per day on the streets. There are many details that you have spot on. Pay particular attention to the hidden alleys etc. as there are many.

@@GaseousStranger You're welcome, I love this episode. One thing, I noticed and it's SUPER nitpicky on my part, the font on the Clinton Ave sign it's close BUT - did you know about the Highway Gothic font on the Steam workshop that matches federal standards? I mean I am probably the only person in the world that noticed it, but I'm a deep detail PO person myself too so I figured I'd let you know that the font exists on Steam and it's PERFECT for these signs. :)
@GaseousStranger2 жыл бұрын
@@CitiesByDiana haha I appreciate the nitpickiness! (Not sure if that's a word but?) It keeps me accountable when I say I'm going for realism :) I did eventually update those Arial fonts off camera later to the pack here - steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1382113305 Totally missed it in the build though along with a few other minor details! My City. When you get to Upperfalls, thats where the hood starts. From St. Paul, to Culver and from Upperfalls to Norton would be the East side. The hood on the westside would be bound by Genesee Park Blvd, Plymouth, Genesee st, Ford st, Brown st, State st, Lake ave, Ridgeway Ave, Mt Read all the way to Chili Ave, to the 390 ramps. Everything outside of those areas, Like the south wedge, East Ave, Alexander, Park Ave, Monroe Ave, South Goodman... Anywhere east of S Union, Culver. Anywhere North of 104, West of Mt. Read or 390 are considered nicer/ safer higher income neighborhoods. typically anything outside of 104, 390, 490, and 590 would be subburbs, or higher tax and income areas. If you need me to break it down any further, I will. Oh, and those map images are dated. The area of the inner loop thats been covered up by land, is already developed with new buildings. It's definitely gentri-ville over there. Every lot is filled, and only one building is under construction, but mostly done.

Rochester, for a blip in time had a subway. Bring that back, remove the freeway. This of course implies we have infinite money. Realistically, just get rid of it like the south end. That area is sooooo much nicer now without the inner loop.
@GaseousStranger2 жыл бұрын
I definitely have some plans in store for reviving the subway! That’s one of the main reasons I chose this city actually. I don’t have anything finalized yet, so any feedback or map suggestions are welcome. I would like to bring it back at least to some extent while also keeping the plans based in reality.

Right down I90 sits the city of Syracuse, another rust belt city with an infrastructure set to expire, and potential billions about to be spent to remove I81 from the downtown area. As in many other ways, it's probably not as interesting as Rochester, but we do have a railroad bridge that regularly eats trucks, so, there's that...

Your work is absolutely amazing, it gives me a lot of motivation to go on with my own project again! I have a question, still wasn't able to figure out how you adjust the tree heights, e.g while planting them on top of those retaining walls. It never worked with "Move It" for me, so how do you actually do that ? :D
@GaseousStranger Жыл бұрын
You will also need the new Prop Anarchy Mod - steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2696146766&searchtext=prop+anarchy+ Once you have this mod, you will gain the shortcuts “.” and “,” in move-it which allow you to scale objects like trees, props, and decals :)
