If you’ve ever bought those air fresheners that have the gel beads inside, after they’ve dried up, empty out the container, clean them up and reuse them. Since they already have the lids cut out, They’re great for this idea. I also used one to hold baking soda and put it in my fridge. It looks nicer than having just an open box of baking soda sitting in there. Thanks for sharing your wisdom! Much appreciated!

I agree about Fab Soft, never use on towels or any fabric that needs to absorbent because the Fab Soft leaves a coating which will build.. I do use it sometimes for clothes but have a well watered down version I mix myself. Its so not good for the water quality or the seas.. Those dreadful plastic scented "balls" also. Fish are being poisoned! I have pets & never forget their sense of smell is hundred of times more sensitive than ours. I think if thongs are kept clean & fairly uncluttered a home does not need to be "perfumed" all the time as Melissa mentioned.

You also could use a nail and hammer to make holes in the jar lid with the lid off the jar. I would be afraid of ruining and dulling my knife. After making holes from the top down, turn the lid upside down on a hard, flat surface with a piece of cloth under it (so the lid won’t get scratched) and use the hammer to flatten the sharp edges of the holes punched by the nail and hammer.

Many of us who suffer from chemical triggered asthma can’t even go near the cleaning and laundry isles in the grocery store. Spice jars, like cinnamon, have a shaker top, grated Parmesan, wash and save container. Diatomaceous earth, will absorb the essential oil, takes a long time to dry out, just re-moisten and keep going. Cloves are excellent to repel wasps, save the little bags that garlic comes in, fill to make a sac of cloves to be used for a nice scent or baseboards to repel insects and rodents. Doesn’t seem to work long term to keep dog walkers away, though.

Hi and thank you for this DIY. What can you use instead of cloves????
@madelynkolich2821 Жыл бұрын
You can buy cloves in the spice aisle at the supermarket. My Sprouts grocery store has a bulk spice section, and they are cheaper there.

How long does the scent last? I have Himalayan sea salt would that work with it?

Wondering the same thing, maybe after it dries out we should dampen it with 1 or 2 tablespoons of water and stir it again.

I use coconut oil with lavender oil, it is an amazing mosquito repellant. I use it on my grandchild at bedtime. Better than spraying the room with insecticide.

No you don't have to, you can either put it on or leave it dear

If you run a woven natural ribbon through the air vents it would wick the aromatic essence. Just need to cloves and I'm trying this one.
