These people treat marriage too lightly; marrying a stranger for a social experiment. Marriage is not supposed to be another dating experience.
@caitlinreilly86375 жыл бұрын
lang 1007 I get what your saying but arranged marriages tend to have lower divorce rates it’s a pity some of these people are doing this as a dating experience and on tv because I feel it taints the results then
@grayskindablue5 жыл бұрын
Caitlin Reilly They tend to have lower divorce rates because in most places this is happening women can’t divorce men (easily- or without saying they’ve cheated), children and/or a place to live are used as threats and can easily be pulled down as collateral, or they follow their religions books on keeping a marriage together/divorce instead of actually going through the courts. Lower divorce rates doesn’t mean happiness.
@lang-ed3bk5 жыл бұрын
Caitlin Reilly arranged marriages are not the same as marrying someone you’ve never met, picked by strangers on a national television show. And yes, I agree that they are letting the show taint their marriage; the show also doesn’t let them have any outside contact.
@H_A_L_75 жыл бұрын
@@lang-ed3bk I went these people at 3:27 and stopped the video. People should know by now that reality shows are not real. I watched the first show of BB in the UK (perhaps that first show is almost real, even then the people in the show already started acting for the cameras), then the explosion of ‘reality’ tv shows, cheap, easy to produce, popularity almost guaranteed. People are eager to be on *tv*. Look at Trump the pumpkin, everyone except people that’s not easily fooled, believe the persona written out for him by the producers of the Apprentice. (Mark Burnet) He was a loser, bankrupt con man grifting his way through life despite being born with a golden spoon in his mouth. He was no billionaire, he’s not money money money. He was a joke in New York before the apprentice, now they made him their president. Arrange marriage still goes on, to this day, especially with the sub continent of Asia……I was in a restaurant once, I can hear the couple behind my booth talking, it’s obvious they’ve been arranged to meet up for the first time by their family, in London in the city (as in during lunch time break), before going back to the office.

I am so happy to see this program. There needs to be many more of them. I was on Nanny 911, eighteen years ago, when reality tv first started. I have three young children and I was desperate for help and to get them out of my bed, so I could sleep. They began filming in my home Del Mar, California. They were at my house Fox TV for three weeks to film one episode. As soon as they took over, I felt like ai was a slave or a prisoner in jail. I was NOT allowed to see my friends, I was not allowed to leave my home, I was NOT allowed to take my kids to school. They would surprise me and wake me up in the middle of the night. Before we began both my husband and I had psychological testing. I was never quite sure why. They paid my kids to do things, they found that I am the sensitive soul with ADHD, and they targeted me and My abandon issues. I was trying so hard to please the Nanny. One night the Nannyc amp and told me she quit . I was exhausted and humiliated. I lost it. I felt like I was having a nervous breakdown. I cried all night long. The nanny was really mean and yelled at me an told me that I ddi not listen. That was one of the worst nights in my life. All my sadness and abondanement from my whole life surfaced. Then My husband pushed the cameraa out. I cried all night. The next morning the producer and the Nanny came in to apolotize to me and told me she was not leaving and today was going to be a good day. I was shaky and nervous and felt an outer body experience as I pretended we were al happy. Then the psychologist came in to me and did testing again. I asked why > He said that they do testing to make sure you are good enough at being emotional and being dramatic without going crazy...........I felt lrazy and depressed for months on end. I tried to reach out to other families abut got a deist and desist letter from Fox. I then read the terrible comments that everyone wrote about me and I had to go to therapy. I later was on a few episodes of Scam Fish and it was much different > They truly were trying to help me. They also replayed the show internationally an put us in books and we got no residuals.............

If anything they are making sure these couples run straight off the rails. And they make sure they match couples who that will grind each other’s gears. So the experiment is based on a lie. It is not an experience based in people finding love, it is about how much emotional and psychological abuse can one person stand.

@Armando Mejia Takara Reality shows have always felt exploitive, since so much of the draw is that voyeuristic enjoyment of a stranger's emotional journey. But now that we've had so many people who waited out the confidentiality periods in their contracts, (or found a loophole around those clauses,) come forward to expose the manipulations behind the scenes - it's baffling that nothing's being done to better protect the participants. Especially after the scandal around the US version of a Bachelor in Paradise season that had to be cancelled after a sexual assault, and contestants revealed in the aftermath just what lengths producers were willing to go to for manufactured drama. Even with savvier participants, nothing seems to be changing in how they're treated by the show-runners and networks. I just keep wondering what it's going to take for a significant change in protocol? (Sorry, that got a little rant-ier than I'd intended. 😳)

I did an Australian reality show 10 years ago and you are told that you will always have help and before doing it you have to sit a psychological test but there is no help provided. It took about 2 years for people to forget who I was. The guy I was with only did it for the fame hoping to get a show out of it. Not to mention the cruel comments he posted about me on social media pretending to be someone else. I got followed everywhere from bathrooms to change rooms and in the end followed home and almost attacked. They definitely do cut and paste words together to make you sound or say what they want to be said. I also sort out counseling after it ended because I was an emotional mess. Something does need to change with these shows. Ps: none of the people on these shows get paid while they are on it. Only the company makes money and the TV stations.
@stacyyoust5 жыл бұрын
Why would people do it with no financial compensation? Seems humiliating.
@heidiluchterhand25255 жыл бұрын
@monetize with sis G and @stacy youst for a lot of the girls I was on the show with weren't interested in making money or being famous. I already had a successful career that I still do and love today. It was more that the other girls and myself included were hoping to find a decent guy. Unfortunately or more should I say fortunately for me now because I am now happily married most of the guys bar 2 were actually not very nice guys who were mentally and emotionally abusive. Two of the guys were very stand up men who did find love and got married to two of the girls on the show. I shared a room in the beginning with one of those two girls and she was gorgeous inside and out. There is a lot of mind games played by the staff but there was also a lot of staff who were very kind. Unfortunately society can play a huge part in why some people go on these shows. The old saying "when are you going to settle down and find a good man/woman" weighs heavily on people's mind or this whole you are not complete until you have children causes people to make rush decisions and enter into these shows. However the guy I was with did try to seek prowess and fame afterwards and it backfired on him. The truth always comes out one way or another and if you burn bridges pretty soon there will be no bridges to help you get to the other side. The best thing a person can do and just speaking from the experience and after some serious counseling is say to themself is why do I have to conform to others expectations and what is it that I want.

I am so happy to see that even the “winners” of these reality shows are being honest about what really goes on. I remember when I first learned that American Idol was constructed in much of the same way as these shows I was heartbroken yet I didn’t realize that all of these shows are the same. I think I was in denial because I didn’t want to believe that there could be so many assholes creating these shows. But we live in a world that anyone can get to someone if they really want to through social media and it’s dangerous. I only started commenting on KZbin videos a couple of years ago and I sure hope I didn’t hurt anyone but I can’t say I haven’t. Lately I have been dealing with severe depression and bi polar disorder and even though I have always tried to be a good person and help people it’s made me even more aware of how little it takes to hurt someone even if you don’t know them. I try remain objective and consider that everyone makes mistakes and everyone deserves understanding and more than one or two chances in life. Especially nowadays as social media is manipulating in itself. And for my sanity I need to stay away from Facebook etc., because for me as someone that has been hurt so much by family it cuts deep just reading my newsfeed. But when I am not on it I get certain people getting angry with me because it’s just EASIER for them to keep in contact with whomever that way and they’ve become so accustomed to it that they truly believe I am being rude or something. And that itself really hurts. But truth be told if I don’t go looking then I don’t see a lot of that anger or frustration because I’m just not there to witness it lol. I really do want people to be happy and loved in this world and I don’t like watching people getting hurt so now I stay away from these reality shows and try to be nice and generous to the real people I see in front of me. The other day I seen absolutely gorgeous woman who was in her 80s or so and I just had to tell her how absolutely stunning she is and the few people that witnessed me saying that to her were stoked and all of us walked away smiling ear to ear and not one of us knew other lol. It was rewarding in a way that stays for a really long time. I hope I don’t sound like I am promoting myself as being perfect but if it feels that way I apologize as I have done some horrible things and I am far from perfect. Have an amazing day everyone and please stay safe and take care

merncat75 The shows certainly do have a duty of care to the people whose lives they distort and destroy. What are you going to say when someone loses their shit and goes postal on a network? They pray in the weak and vulnerable in order to make money. I have watched MAFS in the past, and many other reality shows until this last season. It was disgusting and shocking to me that anyone would find this behaviour entertainment. Don’t even get me started on the comments and behaviour online. Reading other woman call Liz dirty and unclean and trashy? All because she chooses to wear lots of makeup? And hair extensions? These comments were from woman in their 40’s about a young woman in her 20’s. I personally told them it was uncalled for and nasty only to them have them attempt to bullying me. Luckily I’ve enough strength and foresight to just remove myself from a situation like that, but, It was shocking to see and be part of; packs of hyenas all going in for the kill. Imagine that on a huge scale. I don’t think that’s anything anyone can possibly be prepared for. There definitely needs to be some accountability in this industry. It’s become out of control.
