Reality of Black Belts in Martial Arts

This is a huge scam guys. Don't get involved in blackbelt provider. If you buy a black belt from a store it would be much more cheaper and your time will be saved too.

My judo coach told me "belts don't matter as much as skill does". He's a 3rd Dan in judo, but is one of the most athletic people I have met and I'd say his skill is a step above a lot of other judo black belts I've met, and all his tournament victories and medals are a better proof of that than his belt rank.

I think the concept of Belts in India has become for monetary gains(in Mcdojo's) I remember in my schools where there was Karate for one period in a week and kids use to get promoted easily to another belt just by breaking some sand brick or showing something. When in reality we had no class or any good teaching and those kids sucked at fighting. Usually in legit Taekwondo or Karate dojo's there is regulated intervals. Especially in legit Taekwondo centers where they see your hours practices and then only one is eligible for it. Unfortunately many centres in India just give belts if you pay some money. So ig its more about shitty centers that are the problems cause there are 100 mcdojo's around us.

Actually Dan belts are teacher belts, colour belts are student belts. There are different processes to attain Dan belts. Being a Karateka(don't know about taekwondo and other martial arts) I know, Dan belt examinations are very rigid. All Kyo(student) belt and Dan belt exams involve exercises+endurance and stamina test+moves+kata(moves in a ordered manner) and last fights. First belt to Ju Dan(10th Highest) all involves fights. Exams are taken to check ability, there is no win-lose situation. Win and lose matters only in tournaments and championships. There are many Kyo belts who perform better than Dan belts.

Belt doesn't shows how qualified you are, how skills and abilities you have does matters. Now a days belt can get easily just like buying a chocolate. Money can buy certificate but can't buy skills.

Sir I remember one incident I was working in printing press and one of my friend's brother told to print notice for his karate class.. he told me he is the owner of the building and masters will take classes to students... He was carpenter and he had borrowed my nunchaku to make wooden nunchaku for show purpose.. after 6 month he told me to do new notice for his another class and this time he was karate master with 2n dan Black belt later i came to know that he is brown belt but he is knowned as 2 n dan Black belt he also made certificate.. recently he opened new gym which he teaches bodybuilding for students.. but corona blocked his plan...

Its just the starting of walk on path..In my goju ryu style it took 5 yrs to get 1st Dan. And we had to fight 3 black/brown belt one after another

Long before there was no belt system in karate, adopted from judo. Wearing black belt doesn’t mean anything, being a black belt is the ultimate concept in karate-do. In actual karate system there is no fighting compilations only training until end of our life. The modern karate became a business to make money. Specifically in india (karate centers nd so called masters) you can see everywhere like tea shops.

I have learnt under master shailesh .. it has certainly been useful due to covid many martial arts club have closed here .. i have learned a few things from him .. i have gained some fitness but i wouldn't call myself a fighter or Martial Artist ... I am more of an enthusiast and practitioner. If someone asks me then yes you may learn a from master shailesh .. you will learn a few things .. but its always advisable to do it in a club near you as it will give you experience and working with others will keep you motivated.

Karate means not only physical skills. Karate teaches you to become a unique personality rather than belt. There is a word sanchin in Okinawa, it means three battles ( fight between body,mind nd soul) always you have to fight within you to bring your better version ever.

Black belt in karate are nothing but just more like showcasing of the highest significance achieved at the levels but that doesn't at all means it particularly signify your skills and practical knowledge specifically.. beginning from white belt and all the way driving upto the black is totally like one traditional route which u are following just in education from 1st grade till 12th and after crossing all the levels u literally start to think that what exactly u've gained throughout the journey of course.. especially while doing kata most of the trainees doesn't really observes the movement of sequence consisting of sweeps, kicks, elbows and punches of how exactly that can be applied as a official viewpoint in real time fight and even in each and every kata there is deep meaning hidden.. most of the peeps taking martial art lessons or joining dojos only concerns about getting belts quick in no time and the only reason they consider from grabbing the black belt is that they all just see it as a golden crown for getting governments jobs and many more .. And the reason why we see is that most of the karatekas in here are not actually in proper fight shape and they just stop learning things after the completion while they don't exactly see is black belt is actually ment to be from beginners level..Having practical mindset and skills is what no wanna take in ...just take an example if you walk into an company as for a job so an interviewer wants to employ you at a certain level of post mostly he won't consider that much of your backup qualifications he will only care about what skills and knowledge you have... so this is how it is in martial arts everything is gained through skills and knowledge only not by achieving of the belts..the most essential element if you wanna be a true martial artist is observing of the movements which you perform over and practically learning every skill till you master it.. simply what you practice should always mean it especially when doing kata one should know that on that what point of basis it's being used and why ...Once a greatest martial artist said "Belts are only good for holding up your pants"_ Bruce Lee ... yeah ofc he itself never had any black belt either but a true fact about him is why exactly he had faster and powerful strikes than any 10th dan black belt

Sir with due respect I saw your videos where you are exposing Shifu ji, Commando self defence channel,Master Shailesh and now all black belts, I know every black belt is not a fighter....but sir in your videos you are talking about combats....so are you only considering a UFC champion a fighter, I think martial arts is respect sport....so only Stipe Miocic, Khabib, Jon Jones, Tyson Fury, Badr Hari can teach 😀 and we need to travel and visit those champions and pay huge fees to learn....how does the normal person learn.... learning never ends.... Everyone doesn't need to become Bruce Lee or a stuntman or a UFC or Boxing champ....self defence and fitness is also important....if I only consider the few as real ppl it's very difficult for all to learn....u can start learning and keep learning new techniques and make yourself a better fighter or martial artist....spread love and not Hate....no one is perfect 🙏
