To anyone making the move to Canada... Hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Don't romanticize the country. Always remember WHY you came to Canada and stick to your goal. There are a lot of distractions and brutal hardships that may pull drag you down, but being able to ignore them and moving forward is the key to success. Be resilient and always stand up for yourself, because no one else will. It's not by any means a bad country, in fact, it's one of the best in the world, but it doesn't mean that it's going to be easy by any chance.

Best advice to International students is try to branch out. Unironically I think you should avoid Brampton. Yeah it has a lot of Indian peers but there's a stigma toward International students here and it can just seem very negative and gloomy here. You can get all the skills from Sheridan but elsewhere. There's tons of other Programs that offer the same courses and qualifications in Conestoga College and Seneca compared to Sheridan. An international relative of mine went to Conestoga in Waterloo after I recommended it to him and made a lot of friends, both Indian and other ethnicities. He's thriving in his career too because he had to compete less with other international students (if that makes sense?). If he resided in Brampton, he would be competing with tons of other International students. International Indian students are witty, street smart and generally know a lot of intricate things. There's a reason why Indians make the most money out of other ethnicities in America. Keep it up and don't be so hard on yourself. Good Luck!

40 years back the US saw Indians moving there en masse. Indians went along with many other nationalities. They faced racism. They faced violence. They endured it all. Today, they're one of the richest communities of the US. It's all about us, as Indians. Not about how other middle easterners or hispanics do. Yes it's obvious that with such diverse ethnic groups there would be more violence, like it happens in the US. But you'll hardly hear from anyone about returning back to India. See for the first gen it's always difficult. But 20 years down the line Canada may not be what you are predicting. It's a very huge country with almost infinite resources (water+land) . It'll take centuries for it to get saturated and get unrest. Remember it's scarcity that propels violence. Things won't be scarce there in the next 2 decades.

@@Mr_GiLL83 Unfortunately, because people in their home countries have not experienced Canada life, so they don't know the ugly truth. Some may think that you are discouraging and being negative, but you are just trying to help them and sharing your hard earned experience. I agree with you, that Canada is not what people expect it to be in India and other places, because people in home country are misled by fake social media pics and posts and lies. I see what you are saying. It is understandable that some people want to move abroad for better prospects or opportunities, and to avoid corruption, population, pollution. There is nothing wrong with wanting better life, growth and better future. In my personal opinion and from observation, particularly for Indians that already have a great comfortable life in India, for the well to do Indians, like the rich people living a great life in India, or high earning professionals, for them, I personally don't feel it is worth it because the quality and standard of life in Canada, does not in actuality, really get better for them. Still, I would say that for personal satisfaction, if they have a desire to move to Canada, and think it will offer them a better life, then I encourage them to test it out and then based on trial experience, make their decision by being true to themselves Recently (a day or two back) I came across a news article, and it reminded me of you, because you were saying survey, and the news article was about a poll a survey, and the article says: "One of the challenges for immigrants raised in the survey is the cost of living in Canada . According to the survey, 75 per cent of new Canadians between the ages of 18 and 34 said they believe the rising cost of living means immigrants are less likely to stay in Canada , a statement with which 46 per cent of Canadians in the same age group also agreed. The cost of living in Canada has recently jumped at a rate not seen in over 30 years, with economists warning that inflation rates could get even higher . Housing is also becoming increasingly scarce, with record-low mortgage rates propelling Canadian home prices 52 per cent higher over the past two years and fewer rentals available on the market at an affordable price . With cost of living on the rise in Canada , another concern among new Canadians is entry into the workforce at fair and livable wages . Immigrants with university degrees had less favourable opinions on matters related to fair job opportunity and pay than other new Canadians " Source of the article: Title: "Young immigrants may leave Canada due to high cost of living: survey" Can be found at: ctvnews.ca Reality of life in Canada, so people in India are not misled by fake social media posts, pictures and videos that glamorize and sugar coat life in Canada. Even at the risk of being trolled and called 'negative', I tell people, that in my personal opinion, for people that are thinking of immigrating, moving to Canada, but are already well settled in their home country, meaning if someone has a paid off residence, and has a good comfortable life in India, then in my personal opinion , they are better off living there, staying in India, then coming to Canada If anyone is thinking of settling in Canada, then I would say that come to Canada on trial basis, and see if they would like to call it home. You don't buy a car without test driving, you don't marry without getting to know your partner to see if you will be compatible, so then why move permanently to a different country without testing it out, to see if it is a good fit for you or not. The best thing to do, to try it out first, and then based on trial experience, decide on whether or not you want to move there for good. A lot of immigrants make the mistake of not trying it out first, burning all bridges, and just moving abroad right away for good. Some points to take into consideration before deciding on moving to Canada: = In Canada summers are short (2-3 months) and sometimes no real summer but winters are Long (and VERY COLD) and for certain there is winter. Many dread winters because it is so bloody cold that the air hurts your face and during ice and snow storms the road conditions are risky, so you rather stay home unless you really need to go out. A lot of people go through winter depression, SAD Seasonal affective disorder (SAD). = Lack of real true social connections and social life due to the stress of high cost of living (rent or mortgage, insurance etc) and work life balance (people work various shifts and odd days) and the harsh brutal weather (so cold and during snow and ice storms the road conditions are so risky that you wouldn't want to take the chance of driving unless it is absolutely essential) = No home help because it is very expensive, so all work done by yourself, Iike cooking, cleaning, assembling things, laundry, shoveling snow, back yard etc. = High taxes. = Home ownership and rent is very expensive. = People who are doctors, physios and chiros and highly qualified professionals from India have to study and gain Canadian experience and certification to get job in their field. = Appointments for doc appointments, surgeries, specialist appointment take long and even the wait in emergency room is long. =There is shortage of medical staff and nurses = Marijuana has been legalized = International students pay close to triple and quadruple of what locals pay, but one should really look into the results, and check if those students are getting progressive gainful careers, and are they reaching their potential, and getting return on investment. Many make the mistake of thinking that "all that glitters is gold, and that the grass is always greener on the other side". My advice for people in India that are already well-to-do and well settled, is that if life is good to you, then appreciate it, responsibly enjoy it and also responsibly give back and help. The saddest part is when people who are living a depressed and miserable life abroad cannot or choose not to move back to home land, because they are worried that people will see them as failure, or make fun, and criticize them, so they lie to others, and continue to live a sad life. Don't go by fake social media (people will say what will bring them money and make them look good) photos and videos, rather experience it yourself. A lot of immigrants make the mistake of not trying it out first, burning all bridges (by selling everything off, severing all ties, and having no back up plan of exit and return), and just moving abroad right away for good. Sometimes it is the fear of public opinion, and being seen as failure for returning from abroad that keeps people from going back, so they continue to live miserably in Canada, passing their days like zombies, dead from inside but faking it from outside. I would advice, don't care what other people think of you, be true to yourself and live happy . I would say, they should not let the worry of what others will think of them, stop them from going back home, being true to themselves, and living where they feel truly happy and at home, because afterall, life is short TWO MUST WATCH VIDEO ON THIS TOPIC RECOMENDED BELOW 1. Here: 2. Source Google the title "Do international students get what they pay for?" or Go to bbc.com and in the search type the title "Do international students get what they pay for?" There it says: "On average, international students in Canada can expect to pay four times more tuition than domestic students." Here: 3. Source In google search, please type "Ontario colleges' reliance on international student tuition 'a risky formula,' auditor general warns" in google search or go to cbc.ca and in search type that title "Ontario colleges' reliance on international student tuition 'a risky formula,' auditor general warns" There it tells you how much revenue international students generate Hope this info will be of help to anyone who comes across it🙏🙏

Very surprised in the way you explained the molestation incident. Basically you are saying - 'Don't do these things, as you will get caught in Canada.' Instead, you should have said- 'Don't do these things as it is WRONG.' Why do so many north indian men have this mentality? Perhaps you did not mean it like that, but it sounded wrong. Wish you best for future videos.

Instead of telling Indians not to harass people because they’ll get in trouble if they do it in Canada… why not tell people not to harass because it’s the wrong thing to do? Honestly this video makes no sense. Telling folx to be careful because they’ll get in trouble is just saying that Indians in India usually get away with harassment and sexual assault.

I think you are being overly and unfairly critical of him here, because that is just common sense. You could argue that point with the government and law of any place and say "why not tell people not to commit crime because it’s the wrong thing to do" why are you scaring them with being penalized and being punished, if they commit crime. Same point argument with religion, why scare with "sin and punishment for sins", and why not just say that don't commit sin because it is wrong.

That street is a known hood. There are places everywhere yaar. Downtown doesn't mean a circle like CP. It's huge and there are streets and avenues which are dangerous. As it is, there are streets and neighborhoods in Toronto which are dangerous and one should do proper research before trying to move out there.

Exactly. Yahi saari baat hai. Yaha hame kara karaaya miljaata hai... Pata hai mummy papa khilayenge pilayenge padhayenge.... Naukri nahi lagi to kahi jugaad bhi karwayenge...... Ghar bhi unka mil jayega... Otherwise koi yaha scratch se start karke dekhe... 25k salary mei 10 saal kaam karke bhi ek 25L ka flat haath nahi ayega.... Even here people who buy house on their own are trapped in infinite EMIs. Worst part - it'll take years before you're able to buy a decent car. Let's be honest. Life in India is as difficult as it can get but it seems easy coz our parents don't kick us out after we cross 16 and we feel it's our right to inherit and use their wealth. Waha jaake ye culture nahi milta to shock to lagega hi.
