Great video! I actually received a call from someone claiming to be from Mumbai Cyber Crime, saying there was a 2.5 million illegal transaction under my name. Thankfully, I hung up, googled the real Mumbai Cyber Crime number, and explained the situation to them. They confirmed it was a scam and advised me not to fall for it. This video will definitely help a lot of people become more aware of these kinds of frauds. Thanks for spreading the awareness!

Good episode Akash, mere ghar me 2 people came claiming to be police officers about a court notice.. they didn't give me the notice.. so i took their whole video while they were delivering.. sent it to my lawyer, turned out to be frauds.. They manipulate you in such a way that you start thinking it's genuine and ultimately I lost 20k ... And the other one was jio reliance scam claiming they will provide you job and ask for a bank account they can credit our salary but they did an illegal transaction from my bank account and ultimately I was held responsible for it .... Personally, I have seen many cases of digital arrest around me in recent times. They create fake police stations and make video calls, claiming that your number has been used for illegal activities and that you have to pay compensation. I had been out of country this year and I noticed unauthorised transactions happening in New Zealand Dollars. After around 20 small denomination transactions/purchases, the card was auto blocked as my indian number was not reachable by banks. Soon after realising this, I lodged an online case with cyber crime unit which then got transferred to the local police station of my home in Kerala. The cop calls me and asks me how much did I lose and I tell him that I lost around INR7,000 to which he says “is that all? People here are losing 7L and you have lodged a complaint for mere 7k”? Since I was out of India for a prolonged assignment, I was encouraged by Kerala Police to not proceed with the complaint since the bank had already flagged the transactions as fraudulent and a cyber complaint was only needed as a formality for the banks to initiate a transactional dispute. Talk about system!

I have observed Banks supporting the scammers rather than the customer. I have personally experienced bank stating that if a transaction is authorized from your end, bank will not have any responsibility even though the transaction has been reported as fraudulent.

1. Don't provide AADHAR to anyone. It's not Mandatory. Many Address Proofs are available like DL/Ration Card/Passport/Rent Agreement etc. 2. Have 2 types of Accounts. For example, where maximum FD or Balance is kept, do not use any Online transactions like QR/POS/UPI/Net Banking/Fastag/Online Shoping etc etc. Use a separate account where very low cash would b there, only to do these transactions. 3. We have an option for Credit Cards for a limited amount debit facility. Eg: we might hv 10L Credit Card Limit but we can minimise may b 25k/50k or any limit we want to choose. If we want to purchase we can increase the amt for that time else keep the limit less. As always this Video is extremely timely and most important as always Akash Bhai🎉🎉🎉

In US and Canada, Indian scammers have targeted old, retired people and siphoned off billions. The impact of scams is not just monetary, it's affecting perception too. It has made life difficult for a lot of Indians working in banking industry. Some of my friends in Canada have stated that they face severe abuse and outright racism from people on calls. This has led some to move to a different type of job altogther. They couldn't handle such unwarranted hate.

They asked me to report to station asap but I couldn't due to examinations and applied for complaint withdrawal...posted letters with my documents and all with apologies. What did i get? Thanks Akash, this video just saved one of my employees! She just now got a whatsapp video call with someone supposedly calling from the Mumbai crime branch and also from CBI. As usual they presented their "arrest warrant" and kept on video calling and harassing her. She was afraid and almost gave them money after several back and forth, but thought to come to me once. I could help her because I just saw your video a few days back, and I also advised her to report this to the nearest cyber cell. Have to say, scammers are getting increasingly more sophisticated and upping their photoshop skills. If only they could put these to good use.

Got a similar call today at work. I disconnected, blocked and tagged the number but was in a fix whether to report or not. Don't want or have the time and energy to get embroiled in investigative process.

i also got scammed for 99k and bank n police didnt help. many times i dodged these calls from bluedart regarding a drugs parcel but that day I dont know what happened and fell for the trap..it was unlucky day for me.😢

The issue is that our government and india as a nation still doesn't want to spend on cyber security. They don't want to hire people at all. This is just my 2 cents as a security engineer.

There is no crime on this planet earth which is hidden from any respective govt and politicians. If they really wanted to control it , they would have done it by now. It is another way of earning money for them. There are enough YT videos available where fraudsters are boasting about doing such things and few also crib that they pay heavy monthly cut to police.

That's not true. I think you haven't heard the thing fully. I4C has been started for this and it has recovered over 2800 crore so far. Also in Telangana there is a dedicated police team with tools working on cyber crime which is helping other states now, at least that's the latest news.

Govt’s approach is reactive , however it should have been better and stringent policies before rolling out digital India, bulk creation of bank accounts, inefficient rollout of Aadhaar. We build homes with doors, windows and install locks instead of waiting for a burglary and then hoping police to help us. 2. Moreover recovery of money is not even a fraction of what is being mugged. This effort is just an eyewash because they don’t want to be called sleeping on it.

I received a call recently from a Delhi landline number regarding illegal material found in a parcel which I had allegedly booked from Mumbai for Vietnam. They even told me full address of both Mumbai and Vietnam locations. When abused in Punjabi, they told me that I was probably from North India. The intent was to reveal my Aadhaar number linked to my mobile number, which would have been used for money extraction. Thankfully I was well aware of these scams.
