This was such a great episode! I love a good cozy mystery series. I am working on writing my first book. When I tell people that I am writing a cozy mystery they always ask me to define what “cozy” mystery means. I tell them that they are most likely fun and cozy reads with a great cast of reoccurring characters and always includes a murder mystery so solve.

I loved this so much! It's so true about the genre disrespect! Ty so much for the sweet shoutout! I think one of things I do is try to flip the connotation of "fluffy" to something positive. I fully embrace loud and proud that I love cozies, but also that I love the fluffyness of the book....not in the sense of it's just fluff writing/literature but that that's exactly what im looking for!! I don't want the gore, blood, etc of regular mysteries. I want the fluffiness of a town where the characters all support each other, and where I can have a mystery/puzzle to solve but also drool over great bakery items, or learn interesting facts about beer brewing. I totally agree w/ tech guy....others thoughts on my reading have no impact on me. We just shouldn't chat books...which in my case leaves us very little to talk about lol lol lol. In the end I think we should all encourage reading regardless of genre, format, etc. There's enough shaming in the world! Let the people read darn it!! lol lol lol great topic and thx again!!

My major takeaway is to never yuck someone else’s yum. However my next biggest takeaway is how grateful and shocked I am to have Sloan Krause! I love the beer theme!! Also PLEASE give Legends and Lattes a try tech guy, it’s fantastic!

Yes, I love that philosophy! And I agree the Tech Guy is going to devour that series.

Reading cozies makes people more pleasant. We should gift all the mean people we know with cozies and make the world a better place.

I love that idea!

there is NO point to genre shaming. i don't understand it at all. i praise ANYONE who is a reader. let's just support and lift each other up!

I love cozy mysteries and read them constantly!! I have to keep a 'book of books' to make sure I haven't already read a book 😂 I love your writing. Please keep going. I love Jules, and recently, I've also taken a liking to Sloan as well. ❤

I really appreciate this podcast. When I first started reading Cozies I just to feel embarassed because they were looked at as junk reading. After discovering book tube and the mystery festival I feel very comfortable reading cozies as I know there is a large community of people that do.

Yeah, it’s unacceptable that any reading should be labeled junk reading. Long live the cozy!

I love cozy mysteries and I wish they got more attention. When people ask what I read I try to introduce them to what cozies are. If they show any interest I bombard them with suggestions.
