Ryback was in the indies (technically) after an injury in OVW, he came back to OVW in 2008 which by this point had parted ways with WWE, Ryback was quickly re-signed to a WWE developmental deal & moved to their new developmental company Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) where he was given the name Skip Sheffield
