I feel like continuity in this series is wild to begin with. That said, I think it's self contained. They have the T-600 types very fast, and in the old films it took skynet a little bit of time to make the high end stuff. It made do with lots of the old tracked and small VTOL type "terminators" initially. The infiltration units came later when they started rooting out the survivors that were hiding.

Listening to this, I thought of something. Humans are endurance predators. We hunted megafauna like mammoths basically by running them to exhaustion. That's essentially what the Terminator does. Their endurance is unending. That's a whole different kind of terror that just builds on the type of apex predators we are. It's quite clever, really.

The show explains the timeline issue and the rules it's going with very explicitly, it's going with multiverse. Any time time travel happens it creates a new timeline which prevents the original timeline whoever travelled from from happening by even the smallest deviations. It's kinda interestingly tied with the buddhist idea of reincarnation and cycles. Skynet is working off the idea of a single timeline where if it wins, it wins in all of them, humanity is working off if in any timeline we win, we win given enough iterations by surviving in any of them.

This adaptation of anime for the Terminator IP is the most faithful I've seen. The way they explained time travel and the lore is on par with the franchise. The twist, the soundtrack, the voice acting, and the animation are superb. A few nitpicks are that some events or behaviors of some characters don't make sense but only work to move the plot forward. Also, Eiko fighting a Terminator hand-to-hand and getting punched multiple times in the back and surviving... that's a little too much plot armor. Despite these flaws, I believe this is worth watching. 8/10.

From the very moment I heard there was gonna be an anime for Terminator, I honestly despite all the dog shit after Judgement day I was sold. I was essentially for around months just looking for anything on it before release like an absolute hunter killer drone then later on found it it releases on fucking judgement day i was hyped as all hell and i rarely get hyped for anything. And now having binged it all in one sitting i can safely say in my book for maybe the first time in damn years, THIS WAS GREAT. I especially loved the direction it took with the idea of kokoro being a near sentient being capable of complete free choice that almost chooses to let humanity destroy itself by the very weapon humans created and even would continuously rage war against skynet if it needed for the sake of it's own perseverance (Yet another product of mankinds destructive nature). Like, i never even expected them to go in this damn hard on this anime at all let alone for Terminator. what a ride i truly loved it.

I had no idea that this show is exists, but thanks to your video I went and watched it immediately. I loved it, and to be fair the theme music of the anime is minimum great, or more for me. I know it's based on the T2 theme. And yes this fresh perspective is a big addition to the core story and philosophy. (Side note: I liked Dark Fate more than Genesis, atleast they tried something new, but yeah it has a lot of goofy, and cringe worthy moments.)

The idea that we are anywhere close to actual sentient artificial intelligence is a bunch of hype, marketing and propaganda. And it's all designed to distract you from the very real threat of The Machine by which I am talking about the ruthless inhumane frankly demonic Chimera like hybrid monster trio The State The Monopoly The False Church Each of these three are bad enough on their own but it's when they come together that they create The Machine or The Beast or The New World Order or whatever you want to call it. Either way it wants your soul. And unlike Skynet it's not something where you wonder if it could happen. Nah. It IS happening. But in order for you to see you first have to open your eyes. Now that's not to say there is no threat from stuff like machine learning but it's not the tech which is evil. It's the system.

There is no more law and order in the wasteland. Just survival of the fittest and Max has the best car. People worship themselves and legends are made based on who is the best god out there that can defy death when they fight for the last remaining resources on earth. (satanism is the One World Religion since people are selfish A-holes now because that what you have to be to survive)

There was nothing in my opinion that was not to like about this series. Ive seen some proper dumbass negative comments about the show. I mean i say to those guys: keep it context. Lets be honest post T2 everythings been garbage (although i did enjoy salvation) so the challenge really is to honour camerons movies whilst giving us some fresh content and keeping it interesting.. it did all those things and is unquestionably better than all the sequels after t2. It's not just Terminator, but that is pretty common thing in 90's action flick that this anime was also trying to evoke. It the a suspension of disbelief that is expected in the franchise really. Yeah it could be better if the screen writer could avoid it, but again it's not something that aggregious.

Ok so AI will never become self aware. Here is why. AI is not Artificial Consciousness. Intelligence in AI is designated as computing ability. That is all. Computing can act conscious, but it will never be so, because we have to tell it to do that. Furthermore, while stray code can become dangerous, it will never be able to go outside of its code. No matter how advanced. We make the code. The code will do what we say That being said the idea of rogue code can happen in a similar way theoretically to ai becoming conscious, but for AI to become actually self aware would mean we ourselves would have to understand what make ourselves self aware, and it would kind of immediately disprove the idea of the soul and all religions, etc. So while we can tell AI to act conscious and it may eventually be able to do so to horrible effect, it will never actually gain free will. It will always be following the original order. HOWEVER think about it like this. AC and free will aren’t necessary for the horror of ai to exist. Example: We already have terminators. They’re called Drones. 💀
