Thanks for this Jerremy. I appreciate your generous, genuine personality here. This information is basic, easy, obvious but eludes us, those trying too hard to make it in this business. This includes me. With a personal background in psychology I can tell you your incite on these gaps makes total sense. I will recommend these videos to everyone looking for the how/why/technicals of trading ... and your reading candle stick/reversal videosis great, too. They are all great foundational trading stuff useful to learn so I'll prob watch this series a few more times.

what is the best way to play the retest gap ? do you wait for the retest and then put a position then because you know that a continuation in the direction of the gap will follow?\
@RealLifeTrading
@RealLifeTrading 8 жыл бұрын
+gains Correct. I usually wait for a bounce and retest off of the 10 ema on the 5 min or 15 min. If you want, my trading room is OPEN and FREE for everyone this week. I suggest you getting in there (if you aren't already) Here is your link for the morning room. reallifetrading.clickwebinar.com/The_Trading_Floor_-_Morning/register?_ga=1.29709688.611343428.1436792052 It is 9 am - 2 pm Eastern Monday - Friday.

Questions What do you think of day trading monthly options 15 to 30 days to expiration ( buying calls and puts not selling) I feel that I have been more successful with buying them and making quick small profits like scalping since time decay does not affect much if your not holding them and I mean strictly buying and selling them at the end of business day max. Whats your opinion? Should I focus on 10 stocks and just learn them until I know the ins and outs to have a better understanding of what the stock is doing? New traders are not easily accepted to sell options or spread how do you over come this? thinkorswim did not approved me for it. Risk and reward does it really matter what is your risk if is always the same? example apple is trading at $9.50 and the support is at 9 and the resistant is at 9.90. if i buy a call it hits target than it will be 40 cents. if you it does not than I ll just get out at my R and move on.. how do you over come the choppiness of the 5 minutes charts? Thanks for your help From Brasil.

Amazing questions! Thanks for asking. I actually did a video on trading weekly options. Let me know if this answers your questions! :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/n4Wnl36ZdrllnNU

+Real Life Trading I did watch the video thanks, but in this video you talk about weekly options and not monthly options. Also when day trading what is the max you will stay on a trade. I know it depends but also do you have a max? What do you think of scalping with options aand do you rather day trade monthly options or weekly options or penny stocks? I dont ask about regular stocks because it takes to much capital and I am not at that level lol. Thank you !
@RealLifeTrading
@RealLifeTrading 8 жыл бұрын
I do not day trade monthly options. I only swing trade them. I got a few videos on that if needed. The max I'll stay in a day trade? That day. So, until 3:59 pm Eastern. I only hold a 'day trade' as a swing, if I planned to swing trade it before I got into the trade. Never trade penny stocks. Ever. Ever. They are expensive lottery tickets and no professional trader actually trades them. They are manipulated easily and not regulated. :)

The system works 50-50? So, it doesn't work? (around 19:30)
@RealLifeTrading
@RealLifeTrading 8 жыл бұрын
+goldenboy48 Michael Jordan shot 50% from the court. ;-) With proper risk mitigation you absolutely can be profitable and maintain a solid growth trading 50/50. : ) Here's a math fact. IF you lose $1.00 on 50% of your trades and you make $2.00 on 50% of your trades, you'll be profitable. : ) Thanks for the reply!

+Real Life Trading So a coin toss is equally as effective?
@RealLifeTrading
@RealLifeTrading 8 жыл бұрын
Well, I've never personally tried it, but sure. :-) The math fits. Back trade that theory and let me know if it works. The key in ALL investments though, is always risk:reward. Just lose less than you gain over time.

So it looks like all of the examples here couldn't actually be traded in real time because it wouldn't be possible to know if the candle was a "gap and go" or a "retest" until the day after the gap was identified. By which point it is too late to trade.
@RealLifeTrading

Peter Hallam Hi Peter. So, As I’m sure you know, stocks move post market. You’ll know a stock is gapping BEFORE market open with gap scanners. :)

@@RealLifeTrading I am not saying you won't know if it has gapped up/down or not. I am saying you can't know if it is a "gap and go" or a "retest" until the day after.

Peter Hallam Valid question, but wrong. Since I gave it those titles, I know. Lol!!! It’s the sentiment of the gap. NOT the candle color after the gap

@RealLifeTrading

I have indeed. I've read and heard a lot of things on the internet - I don't believe them all though. ;-) It's not hard to make money 'trading' when you make a lot of money on the side from selling programs. ;) But - Ross is an amazing trader. I do not doubt that at all. My approach is less about 'how much money you'll make and more about how to protect what you do make'. Which is simply more realistic for MOST traders and people.
