Attention Ali: I am not trying to make you feel or question yourself as a parent. My Mama taught us that our home was everyone's home and each of us did our part to keep our home neat and clean. She wasn't demanding or overworking us nor were my children. I also wanted them to have a wonderful childhood and playtime too which they did. As adults our sons are teaching their children to do some chores. My husband or me had playtime or crafts with our sons. I hope this explains myself a little better.

4/2/2024- I just went through my bed side table and got rid of a Dollar General bag full of BURN items. I organized everything left in categories. It felt so good. I'm new to your channel. I really enjoyed how you decluttered your kitchen pantry and you took your time and you explained things. I've been on a decluttering mission for the last 4 years. I bet, I've gotten rid of over 2 thousand items in 4 years. Every year, we have a big yard sale in March and I declutter more and more. I'm halfway to a minimalist now. I DON'T buy JUNK anymore. If I can't find use of items at the store, it DON'T come home with me. PS... I'll be 66 in June, have 2 grown kids, 2 PRECIOUS grandbabies. When we go on the GLORY one day, I DON'T want my kids to come in and find a MESS of unorganized JUNK. I WANT TO HAVE IT DONE FOR THEM.

-Restart the timer for the first office so that you can put a dent in that place and get it done it's almost there. -The real problem is having the real estate to store the things that we need. -Have seen videos on folding clothes and that will free up space in drawers or containers providing an organized way to your stuff.
@reallifewithali Жыл бұрын
I have tried folding my clothes standing up. I didn’t like it. And my kids definitely can’t keep up with it! Lol.
@TheRhythmOfLife1972 Жыл бұрын
Actually, I use the stopwatch and the timer. You stopped your timer to go to the car but you need to know how long things take. Just restart the timer finish up the office you were in with the paper all over the floor and it's done. We all have built-in procrastination buttons.

You did a great job. How about now you challenge your kids to go through the basement to finish removing items and putting them away and decluttering the closet that contains those items that you don't think they use? By involving them in this job, they should derive satisfaction and you will as well.
@reallifewithali Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I appreciate your positivity. They helped get the basement all cleaned up that same day, but I plan to involve them in decluttering it as well. ❤️

If you get rid of the toys, it might teach the kiddos a lesson. I bet next time they would take better care of their things and pick them up and put away.
@reallifewithali Жыл бұрын
That is true. I have wanted to do that, but just can’t actually do it! I would definitely have to warn them first so they knew the expectations.

Yes it was pretty clean this day, but my point was that I found a lot to declutter still! There are many days it's not this clean and stuff is all over the counters. I am trying to minimize so there isn't as much to leave out.
@shirleygermain5707 Жыл бұрын
Good job, but do you know why younger women are so stressed? You don't teach your kids to do anything. At 9 years old, I was making my bed. Dusting my room and vacuuming. My mother and father made us do this every day. They never cleaned our rooms. It was our job.
@reallifewithali Жыл бұрын
I get it. I know I’m definitely not the perfect mom by any means. I am trying my dang hardest, though! They do clean their own rooms, but sometimes need some help because it’s too overwhelming. 🤷🏻♀️ One more thing…my kids did clean up the basement the next day. I guess your comment struck a nerve. It’s definitely something I don’t like about myself.
@shannonstroud2479 Жыл бұрын
Dont feel bad. I clear up after my boys (7 and 10) because in my eyes they are still kids. There’s time for them to learn all this stuff. They have years ahead of them doing it, why can’t they have a childhood?!

@@shannonstroud2479I never expected my children to clean . They were children and they deserved a carefree happy childhood. They all grew up into fully functioning clean tidy adults with full time jobs. Of course they put their clothes in the hamper and their dishes in the dishwasher etc but that was it . I don’t know why people expect tiny children to get a vacuum out .
