But the way they started defending him at the end and saying they were made for each other is the worst, he shouldn't be meant for anyone. People who are made for each other and truly care about the other try and put the other in front of themselves (in a healthy way). The fact that he knew some of what she really wanted in a wedding and knew some of her major values but didn't really go for any of them is insane. He also didn't seem very smart. If he knew he couldn't afford to have most of her family to be there then why did he even have the wedding be there in the first place? Late to this party but British person here for anyone else wondering: no it's not normal to wear white without permission from the bride (if you're female). You could get away with mostly white if it had some colour/pattern on it, but never an all-white dress. I'm guessing they had permission/it was planned that way.
