That might have saved them back in the days when most Australians lived in a house with 700+square metres of land, but as an increasing number are living in apartments and high rise units. Where are the solar panels to power a block of units 30 storeys tall going to go?? They would barely be able to fit enough panels on the roof to power one floor let alone thirty floors plus the elevators passage lights, and how many batteries are you going to need to allow continuous supply??
