Probably the best unboxing video I have ever seen. Very useful to show every menu option. Also, the other stuff you covered was interesting as well. Looks like you left nothing out. I came here, because I have a similarly looking model, but without IR LEDs and wanted to see if this cam is any good at night. Mine costs 12 times as much as this pile of junk and now I know why lol

newgsxr1000 We're. Of complaining about that, it is the fact that this stupid thing isn't even fit for purpose with its crap video quality. I mean it shouldn't exist. This thing is like a 1 dollar hotel inside of a leaky toilet that hasn't been cleaned since god was a boy. Surely, it's only 1 dollar a night, but it shouldn't exist in the first place.

I have one. I realized you really had to depress the micro SD card in all the way, so it would click and stay. Then really push down on it once, to release the SD card. Not a bad little camera for $10. bucks. Even has infra-red.

Mine always just says “damaged file” when trying to load videos on the dashcam and videos seem to just be corrupted when plugged into PC, first video after a format always works fine though

Video etc was interesting but the Aston dashcam FDH 1080P I have has the very small operating keys on the left & right side on the back instead of, as the one illustrated, on the bottom. Any decent suggestions or could you possibly please send me the corresponding details on mine? Thank you.

I just picked up that same camera sold under the Scosche brand name. I got it at Walmart in the US on clearance for $15. The firmware on yours is nicer with more options. The video on mine at 720P looks like your QVGA. I can't read a license plate unless I'm stopped right behind the car in front of me. I'd say you got a good deal. Do you have a web address that lists firmware? I'd like to try your firmware on my camera.

I have been using two of them in my car (front and rear) . the problem you had with 1sec lost footage is due to you using poor quality SD card. You must use cards with high speed recording , preferably number 10 .

Wal-Marts in the states sell the exact same thing, only difference is the box. The Wal-Mart version starts out at around $20.00, and goes as high as around $25.00-$30.00. So I would say that it's a pretty fair price for an item like this one, being sold in a brick and mortar store.

Instructions say charge for 30 before first initial use. I got the same thing and it works fine. It's by onn. $20 plus tax. Night time cant seem to pick stuff up.

ramdom question, and a need for advice, have the same camera (x2) have brought brand new SD cards for them today, neither one of the cameras are registering the cards, when putting the cards in to a computer they both come up so they cant both be faulty... got any ideas how to make the cameras register the SD cards...??

Did you use your computer to “format” the new cards? If not, lots of equipment won’t recognize the MicroSD cards at all.

This is a very good video, no fake promotion. Everything considered this is a very basic camera with poor performance especially in low light conditions. But what do you expect when you pay the cost of a delivered pizza! for this tech. Might be better to pay a bit more for better results.

I have a camera that is the exact same on the outside but seems to be using a different program. The menus are different and none of the buttons are actually "OK" or "select," meaning I can't change any option. I've been using the product for about 9 months now. Night vision is horrendous and menus are inoperable using the 8 buttons (I can move up and down the options but not select or change anything). The plastic screen and casing are warped from the sun. The upper middle section of the screen has come off the rest of the device. I've cleaned the camera lens and my windshield but the glare is still very bad in night conditions. It is possible to get perfectly functional videos from this device but they are grainy/blurry and only acceptably smooth. I've taken my 32 GB SanDisk card from the device and watched 3x speed videos with desynced audio, though this issue might only be my computer and the windows 10 player software I'm using. I'm using a USB cable and Power Media Player now, however, and the videos are synced with the audio. The audio quality of this device is surprisingly high and I think this thing is well worth the $10 this person paid for this. The videos are in .avi format (I don't get a choice since I haven't figured out any way to change any options) and I can currently watch 332 videos on the aforementioned card. The most I would pay for this shamcorder is $25. I successfully used footage from this camera to prove I was not at fault for a collision on an interstate and I rate this product 5/10. It gets the job done, though only just. Difficult to use! Had the camera fly off the mount the first weeks I used this camera, but another problem with the mount is the fastening ring - it becomes brittle from the sun and will snap if left stressed inside a hot car. TL;DR: Carcam corder FHD 1080P may be used to prove innocence in a car collision; however, this product would be best for an area cooler than hot, sunny southern California. Video quality is acceptable except for at night, where any light source produces a lot of glare.

Bought two for 7.98 each for a test run. The video is good enough to prove who is at fault and identify the people and vehicles. You don't need a Hollywood production for a dash cam that will fry and die in the sun in less than a year and sometimes 16 days. My $59 lasted 16 days. Wonder if you can adjust the exposure as it looked a little dark to me?

$59 dollars is fuck all for a dashcam and you probably bought some cheap unbranded Chinese one which is probably why it lasted for 16 days. If you want quality and something that lasts, go for a Yi or Xioami dashcam. Those costs $75 bucks and lasted 2 summers being baked in the sun and still going strong.

I got mine for $6 with free shipping(OK, took 4 weeks...) off of a Chinese Auction Site (TopHatter) It is exactly what I thought it would be [As shown here]... But it's actually all I need :) Some things to note: 1. Never really held a charge (But I plug it into a switched port so... good 2.The Night Vision lights (6 InfraRed LEDS)... ummm... yeah. I popped the unit open... Sure nuff, not hooked up to anything 3. Screen is detaching on the corners (Still works, but is visibly curved a little) 4. I had to change SD Cards once -After a bit of thought... This unit sits in my car 24x7x365... 200°F or more in the summer to -20°F in the winter. I assume that the SD Card & Screen Adhesive .. got melty/crunchy at some point At the highest quality it has, I can see a lot of detail (Including the license plates on the car that side swiped me ...) The User may have left the lens plastic on (Yup. Film on both the lens and the screen)

Dont worry about the IR (infrared) as they dont do much if anything at all. I am a little surprised that yours is not hooked up to anything, in my case as seen here kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGfRqZSjeZV5a5o it does come on but adds a purplish hue to the footage and absolutely does not help in recording better videos at night, in fact it makes it worse. As a general rule, having owned 5 of this as starter dash cams, ones with IR should be ignored unless its meant for in-cabin recording or placed outside the car as a rear cam

Hi. You will need to have it pluged in your car when you used it as the battery wont last long. I don’t know if it helps, but I ‘ve shown the directions at minute 1:20 in the video.

Decided to invest towards a cheap Chinese knock off dash cam. the point for me is to catch drivers in the act if they hit me. Just grab their licence plate, if something happens. No point in investing $150 for true HD quality, even some still can't give good quality at night. (also depends in how bright your headlights are)

I own this dash cam. My ex and I both bought my son a dash cam for Christmas. I bought him one recommended by Car and Driver. My ex bought him this. 🙄 My son chose to keep the one I bought him and he passed this off to me. Yes, the video quality is atrocious. I can’t make out plate numbers night or day on mine. Maybe it’s the card I’m using? As you said, you get what you paid for.

These cameras detect motion by analysing the video image. If it can see through the glass, it will detect motion.

I have this camera for about 10 months. At the beginning, she was doing well, she played pretty, she was doing well. But recently, the recording is cowering. I have a 32g cart, and suddenly when I put the charger into the lighter, it will not run. Image opens but does not record. I have to turn it on and off again, and if it does not play, it stops and after about 6 minutes the image stops and starts recording again without putting it in the manual. Suddenly, great dissatisfaction. Bought on Aliexpress and used in the Czech Republic
