This video is realme 12 plus camera test, this phone is the only budget device offering optical image stabilization at low price. It has very capable 50 megapixel main sensor and 8mp ultra wide camera with some software tuning. In this video we will discuss following aspect of realme 12 plus camera.
Daytime Photography:
realme 12 plus camera take very bright and colourful photos in daylight. if we talk about it's main camera which takes good pictures with plenty of details and good colours as it is 50 megapixel we can zoom up to 20x and results are fairly good. But I have noticed camera processing starts to go away after we zoom more than 1x. It's 8mp ultra wide camera takes average looking pictures with less details and average HDR.
Portrait mode:
realme 12 plus camera has a dedicated portrait mode for taking human portraits. Realme12+ tends to over expose in portrait mode but this camera takes good quality pictures with good exposure and average dynamic range. At 1x pictures are sharp with good details and good edge detection. At 2x zoom level portrait mode takes a little bit soft images with decent edge detection and colors starts to fall apart at 2x so I will recommend you to take pictures at 1x for best possible results.
Daytime videography:
In broad day light realme 12 plus camera takes very colourful and bright videos but stabilization seems to be bit lacking despite of having OIS. Realme 12 plus can shoot up to 4k 30 FPS videos from its camera. It's stabilization feature only works at 1080p 60fps so I have tested 1080p 60FPS videos without stabilization turned on. Results are good considering it's price as it's OIS helps to stabilize footage.
Front camera:
Realme12 front camera take decent shots even at very low light environment. It's front camera also has screen light up feature to replicate front flash for taking bright pictures at low light which comes very handy.
Lowlight photography:
At low light realme 12 plus camera has dedicated night mode which is triggered automatically in camera to ensure maximum bright pictures at dark. I have took multiple shots and it's main camera takes good quality shots with good details, decent colour accuracy and pictures are not shaky thanks to it's optical image stabilization.
Lowlight Portrait mode:
Realme12 plus camera can shoot portrait photos in low light but the results are not very impressive as picture quality starts to fall apart even with flash light so I will not recommend you to take low light portrait shots with realme 12 plus camera.
Lowlight Videography:
In lowlight and tricky lighting conditions realme 12 plus's main camera shoots decent videos at 1080p 60fps without stabilization turned on results are good considering its price tag. One thing I have noticed mostly phones video quality starts to follow part in low light if we turn on stabilization mode and this phone is no exception.
