The ones with the ridiculously flaired out wheels always give me a chuckle. They must go through tires every 3 to 6 months considering they are continuously putting all that stress on the sidewalls of the tire (which they were not designed for). Years ago there was a super low lowrider that used to blast through my mom and dad's neighborhood WAY over the posted 25 mph speed limit. This happened a lot, so the community got together and petitioned the city to put speed bumps in (the ones that are 4 or 5 feet wide that go all the way across the road). A few days later we hear old speedy zipping through and I *_RAN_* to the window to witness what was about to happen. You guessed it: A horrendous cashing sound as his front spoiler was yanked from the car and he bottomed out big time. I laughed until my sides hurt.

Snapback like shown at around 5:40 is no joke. With a tow strap like that, you can easily get a nasty injury as in going to the hospital. When talking stuff like navy ships, it can and will kill you. I remember being told at Great Lakes that the nylon lines (up to 3", hemp is used for the largest, or at least this was what we were taught 20 years ago) used by the USN can extend up to 40% when under tension. They also showed us a video where they intentionally broke a line, with a bunch of dummies in the positions crew would be in and that line utterly obliterated them. Personally I had this happen when I was trying to get a buddies car out of a snowbank. We were lucky nobody was near the tow strap.

I live in a rural rea in the great lakes region. People have stared doing this with trucks as well. Just the other day, I saw a 2006ish F150 that was lowered, with a widened track, and stretched OFFROAD TIRES with a TON of negative camber. The thing was positively shuddering side to side as it went down the road. Truly astonishing. I made haste to pass and get as far away as possible. Can't imagine that thing is still on the road. The absurdity.

Being a huge science nerd, springs basically have 3 forms of compression. -Elastic, that's the prime purpose of a spring, do deform and pop back to the same position over and over. No permanent deformation -Plastic. Plastic deformation is when an object is pushed passed the tipping point and it will no longer bounce back. Imagine a slinky stretched too far. It's misshapen now. -The third type is basically "setting" the spring. When you heat it(at a factory for example) you are able to "set" the spring to a position in which it will always want to be. The guy heating his spring at home was trying to compress then "re-set" the spring so instead of being more extended, it would favor the new position without breaking. Fair warning, for high load materials like springs on cars, it's very possible to instead weaken the material. Without knowing exactly what you're doing, it's quite dangerous. Assuming he did his homework, it's pretty genius tbh.

I've never tried to lower a car. I've lifted a truck. Lifted 4x4s have their own issues. I knew a dude who had a lowered S10, he had hydraulics so he could get in and out of his driveway. It would bounce too. Bounce it too high and bust it, fun fun! I think too much camber looks silly, not to mention how small your contact patch is... I like the stance of a 70 Roadrunner with 15" 60s on the back and 14" 70s on the front, and of course it gotta have Cragar SS mags! Appropriate rim/tire combo for the year of the vehicle. I have four nice fat 60s on my 02 Durango, on 17" factory Dodge mags. I just put a new front driveshaft on it last week, which reminds me, I gotta get under there and retorque them there bolts, but I digress...

In the 90s i wanted to improve the handling of my Mercedes W124. I had the small I4 engine in it. I wanted it stiffer and less lean outwards in the corners. So i don't lower it, i ordered the suspension parts of the I6 engine wagon. The springs and shocks had to hold more weight in front and back. So they were stiffer and harder with my leightweight 1280 KG Mercedes. After installing, it had the same height and drove like it would run on rails. Today, i own a Toyota, and i got some gas operated shocks for it instead of oil. The car is more comfortable and stiffer at the same time. Cause small movements "disappear" completely, and long pressure like corners will result in a stiff behavior. That is possible with a progressive spring and without lowering the car.

For Super Low Cars with scraping exhausts (as they are not high performance fast cars as lowering too much has a severe negative effect on Handling & Braking) Then you can Change the shape of the Exhaust Pipe to a Flat OVal as the gases in pipe only care about the Total Diameter and Volume not the Shape. 3" pipe squashed down to only 1" height (Oval) wise will have the same flow as round 3" pipe, but will give extra 2" clearance.

Lowering your car can improve your handling but simultaneously be responsible of sudden swaying of cars because those 8mm and 2cm ground clearance can suck a lot of air underneath your car to actually lift it in an unbalanced way responsible for swaying wobble of car or steering of tyres on its own

In my rural community it’s raised trucks with big mud tires. At least that could be useful, occasionally.

Coil over shocks are not designed to change the ride height of the car, they are designed to alter the characteristics of the suspension (corner weight, rebound capacity, spring rate, etc). Can they be used to lower the stance a little?...sure. There isn't anyone running a true coil over (Penske, Feal, Koni, Afco) who would dare use the coil preload to adjust for "stance". If you want to drop it low.....l-o-w...and still retain driveability start with aftermarket spindles, lower control arms, etc. Getting stance from coil preload is how you wind up putting the rod through the bottom of the sock or something similar.

6:00 knew a guy like that. He had to plan his route so that his car can drive there. He had to take a 25 min detour for a 10 min drive because there was a railway crossing he'd get stuck on.

I used to have mine inconveniently low, it was hell to drive and couldn’t have more than one passenger. I really miss how it looked though and kinda wanna go back to how it was.
