Your parents are such gems!! My Hubby once got a scam call and he decided to play along. The scammer said Hubby owned him money and he wanted $250 in gift cards or he was going to call the police. Hubby stated he didn't have $250 and that he couldn't pay. Then listen for the sirens because I called the police on you, they will be there soon. Hubby-- Ah, I don't think so because I would be the one responding to the call--- I AM the Police and I'm working right now...and I'm tracing this call and calling the FBI!!! He said you could hear the sonic boom of the guy disconnecting the call!!! (He was actually sitting in the police station working and the call came in on the department phone!!!)

Very funny story! Glad your parents don’t get taken in Mike! My dad got a call from someone who said “Grandpa?” My dad assumed it was one of his grandson’s and said “X?” The caller then identified himself as grandson X, and told Dad he’d been driving drunk, got in an accident in Canada, and needed money for his bail. Dad immediately responded “X, if you were driving drunk, you need to stay in jail until you sober up and learn your lesson!” And hung up the phone. They did call X’s mom to verify that X wasn’t actually in Canada. No, he was home in bed. Such a perfect grandpa response!
@robinanderson7242 ай бұрын
The very same thing happened to my dad years ago. The caller said this is your grandson and my dad said my son’s name and he said yes I’m in jail. He asked for money and my dad said for him to call back. My parents called me and I confirmed my son’s whereabouts and then they called the sheriff. When the sheriff showed up the caller actually called my dad back and talked to the sheriff. Of course they hung up but it was scary for my elderly parents.

I got the same call one day, and immediately knew it was not one of my grandkids, so I strung him along. When he asked me if I was going to send him some money, I immediately replied “NO, you know better and so you can get yourself out of this yourself!” And then I hung up. Apparently, he got caught about two week's later and is probably in jail by now. So, don't think all older people aren't smart!!!

My mom started every phone conversation the exact same way... "Bear... its your mother". It always cracked me up. I once exclaimed to her "... who else would be calling me from the phone number you have had since I was 9 weeks old?" I was 48 at the time of this story. My mother replied "your father." I wasn't expecting that response and it kinda threw me. Set aside the fact that there was no mistaking my fathers booming voice for hers, it was common knowledge that my father had never physically called one of his children on his own. He always asked Mom to do the dialing and, after a quick "Bear... its your mother. Your father wants to talk to you", she would hand him the phone. That was when I realized that, for the very first time, my very strict, incredibly straight laced and serious catholic mother had just demonstrated sarcasm.... and we both busted into laughter.

I work at a 988 call center and we’re required to ask everyone if they are experiencing any dts or dto thoughts. This includes telemarketers and scammers. They hang so fast when we ask them if they are having any thoughts of unaliving themselves and inform them that they are calling unalive prevention hotline, the sheer panic on their end makes me laugh so hard every time. I gotta go. Goodbye. And then I hung up and went about my business of cleaning the house or washing dishes or somesuch thing. 10 minutes later, the phone rings. Yes, this is Officer Fudpucker of this cities finest and how are you doing today, Empty? I'm doing fine. How are you doing? Yeah, we just got a phone call from a telemarketer who said you were just on your way out to "unalive" yourself, and we decided to give you a call to find out what's going on. Yeah, I don't like telemarketers calling and I just spoke the first thing that come to my mind... Yeah, I don't like telemarketers calling either but in the future, please don't say that. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 As an old broad dealing with her 80 year old mother, you have my sympathies and heart. My mom watched the news and saw that dingbat talking about our info being in the cloud. I got an almost hysterical call about that one and she still thinks I may not not know enough and should check with anyone under 20. 😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤

Hysterical. I am 80, pretty darn computer savvy, my brother 90, leaves me in stitches with his complete lack of knowing anything about his computer. I gave up trying to explain anything to him after he couldn’t understand, despite me explaining to him fifty times….why his internet won’t work when our WiFi is down. I even took him outside and pointed to the satellite dish on the roof and said, you know, this works like your cell phone, then he asked “how does my cellphone work” 😂

@@frolickinglions At least your correction got me to research, as I have not heard of either bury the lead or bury the lede that I can recall, so had no idea about either of them...learn something new everyday....thanks...

I have taped a piece of paper over the lens. I have in the past used a very small bandaid. I use paper to protect the lens, but tape to keep the paper tightly against it. The smallest bandaid works great.

I’ve received the same email with a password I haven’t used in years, but the scenario wasn’t nearly as hilarious as this 😂😂 your parents are fantastic!
@illawarriorhill703 ай бұрын
I had a similar email a few years ago. Whilst I knew it was crap, because firstly I don't do pornnsites, and secondly my Web cam didn't work, but I was alarmed that that they knew my password. I promptly changed it, yet a month later got a similar email with the new password. I was terrified. Changed every password I had to a unique one!

This is what worries me… How did they get a password and if they have the password, can get into the system, they can see when passwords are changed and what the new passwords are for any site.

your mother is amazing. This happened to me and my work email. I was laughing so hard as I read a similar email to my General Manager! And he kept saying jeeze stop reading! I couldn't stop I was laughing so hard. He is the same age as my son. At my age I guess I am not embarrassed about things like this... however, my email was hacked and we kind of pounded on the head of our IT company and insisted they figure out how this happened! We changed the password and went to 2 type identification. All good. I loved this video Mike, made my day!
