Iron Man Becomes Ice Age Man - Part 1
Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, The Avengers #31, titled "The Temptation of Anthony Stark."
Tony Stark investigates a fossilized Iron Man helmet in a Wakandan cave, but an unknown energy source transports him a million years into the past. Attacked by cavemen Avengers, the Phoenix instructs him to face trials alone. He's repeatedly tempted with cave wine but resists. After weeks of attacks, a serpent offers to trade for his soul; Stark kills it. Suspecting the snake's involvement, he kills snakes to summon it. This works, but a giant gorilla with an infinity stone wrecks his armor.
Desperate, Stark searches for materials and faces reanimated snakes. Claiming to be "Ice Age Man," he confronts his father, who turns out to be Mephisto. Despite futile attacks, Mephisto reveals Tony's future soul bargain. Prehistoric Avengers watch, unable to intervene. Stark's ice armor melts as he fights. With one shot left, he blasts the time stone. Black Panther finds him screaming in the cave. In the present, Tony confronts Mephisto in Vegas. Howard aligns with Mephisto, pledging allegiance.

I seen it as a very powerful story seeing as iron man is a recovering alcoholic which is a daily mental battle permanently fossilized in his head and the cavemen and women are like demons trying to force him to give in to his addiction which is equivalent to him selling his soul which is like the snake which resembles the devil wanting his soul in exchange for the pleasure and carelessly letting go finally being free of restraint and stress but he is still strong enough to resist the temptation but everything and everyone sent after him will do or take something which makes it that much more harder to resist to where till he finally had absolutely nothing but still manages to rationalize things using things in his environment to continue winning the battle of additional which he faces alone everyday and the story is a reoccurring reality played in his head with demons and temptations that he fights every single day

It can rust, and the rust can get minerals attached to it, so it can 'grow' a rock coating over a few million years. Maybe not much, but enough to say, "this is WAY older than it has any right being," and the way to say THAT in one word is "fossilized"

Well, you could use the armor pieces as a mold to form those shapes for ice/water. Technically, you could get all the broken armor parts, put them together, and have them essentially refrozen together. Then, when someone smacks your forearm trying to shatter it since all you have is a thin layer of ice, surprise to them, when they break their hand on your frozen metal, they just smacked. One time, as a kid, I smacked my cousin on the wrist. He was wearing a long sleeve shirt and a metal watch underneath it, which was unaware of. When I smacked his wrist to come back with my fingers bruised in shock. He replied with. "Man of Steel". It was then that my life changed forever.
