Will you all calm down 😂 The daughter just got a fright because she saw the ambulance pull up to her mom’s house, her mom had a previous fall and her sister had died. She’s human. She worries. She’s emotional. She loves her mom.
@vagirl19
@vagirl19 10 ай бұрын
@@TheCowgirlNiamh it was the right time to be worried about why the ambulance was there, it was NOT the right time to be shouting at and criticizing her mother. After she's raised her and her siblings, one of whom she cared for 60+ years. The daughter should be reciprocating that care in her mother's later years instead of threatening to throw her into a nursing home, especially living across the street, and clearly in retirement age. You should have plenty of time for your own mother.

How is paracetamol supposed to make you sleepy I thought it was like Tylenol?
@think_bubbly
@think_bubbly Жыл бұрын
Hi, I'm a nurse, but not in emergency care, so I'm not an expert. However, paracetamol does not make you sleepy and we give it to patients day in and day out. Its a very good, very mild painkiller for the body. It doesn't filter through the kidneys like nearly all medication, but off the liver, so it's a great choice unless you're an alcoholic. The only pain killer that would make you sleepy is a variant of morphine cause it works on the central nervous system. I think the patient either means that she was in pain, so she took paracetamol to numb the pain enough to fall asleep. Or she thought it would make her sleepy, which again, paracetamol does not. It helps with pain and fevers. But it's more likely (as she states) because of mental health issues, and she was overdosing. 5 of a 500mg tablet would not OD you unless your liver is terrible, but 5 of a 1g tablett will. And overdosing will 100% make you "sleepy" because your organs are shutting down. As in slowly dying. Hope I cleared it up for you, and sorry if it was long and rambly.
@supernovamoon2418
@supernovamoon2418 Жыл бұрын
@@think_bubbly I agree, but I still have heard that some get that effect, but I think it is VERY rare and nothing to try. However, when I have overdosed,(8,5 where I had severe liver failure,20, and even 30grams,(different times) I have ALL the times become extremely tired and sleepy, and had better but very weird and unnatural sleep. Besides from all the other symptoms like feeling extremely ill and vomiting everytime I move, like every minute for 24+ hours. Sorry for long and weird comment, I just had to say it. And to say that It is nothing anyone should try as it is extremely painful, I would dare to say that it is one of THE MOST painful ways to die and I never wanna try that again. Just trust me! And sorry for the long comment, it is night time where I live 😂
@supernovamoon2418
@supernovamoon2418 Жыл бұрын
And I don’t know if she actually meant that it would help her sleep or if it was a cry for help, or something else. But I do know what she means, I have been severely depressed and wanted to sleep but I could not, I slept very bad. And then I have thought that the only way is to overdose because then I felt I was finally going to sleep. Because when I did sleep I had nightmares. There was no rest from the pain, not even at night, so it got exhausting.

She did go on a bit, but don't shame her. She was worried, scared, and tired. She's human like the rest of us. When our feelings get overwhelmed with worry, we sometimes can get angry. Some of us do the same when our kids start going out on their own. Our fear of what could happen makes us angry when something does happen. It's just natural.

@@cmtippens9209 so only checking in on her when she saw the ambulance is an ok response? Doesn't look like she's properly caring for her. You don't berate the elderly when they are down.
@karenbutnotthatkaren5528
@karenbutnotthatkaren5528 Жыл бұрын
I agree with Megan. Berating someone who spent her entire life being the caretaker of one of her children! I say to her, show some respect!! I'm sure the daughter wouldn't have wanted to be talked down to like she did to her own mother while in a vulnerable state. I don't believe it is a coincidence that she passed so soon after being admitted to a care home either - if such a move is forced upon more independent types it can kill their will to live. Being under stress is no excuse in my book either. I have had to go no contact with a narcissist 'mother' but would still speak to her with more respect than this daughter did if in her presence ever again. Karen Karen

I also had pain on my chest cartilage. Took aspirin for 2 days, still in pain. I started taking ibuprofen for 3 days and the pain finally went away. It was the worst pain in my life. If youre on methadone and youre given morphine. (They can only give 10mg max i think) it is not going to reinstigate his heroin addiction or even cause any euphoric effect for him. Methadone is alot stronger than morphine and wont really allow morphine to bind to the opioid receptors in the brain. I am on methadone and a very high dose of morphine daily. Have been for many years. Zero euphoric or sedative effects. These people have absolutley no idea what they are talking about when it comes to anything opioid or addiction related sadly. The morphine would still have an analgesic effect. But not an effect that would make him feel high whatsoever

The "gas & air" that is given is like getting nitrous (aka laughing gas) at the dentist or in some places, moms in labor. It takes the edge off the pain and dissipates quickly once the patient stops breathing it in. There is no "high", just a brief giddy feeling.

It seems as if they just drive around aimlessly "on patrol," waiting for calls to come in. That doesn't seem very efficient; they might be very far away from the call, and have to backtrack across town. Seems like a waste of gas....errrrrr...sorry, petrol! Perhaps they have some sophisticated kind of locator system that lets the call center know which ambulance is where, so they can call the nearest one. But even so...just driving around waiting for a call...

I take 9 500 mg extra strength Tylenol when I have a migraine. I can only take Tylenol due to being on blood thinners and my body, like my mothers, seems to metabolize medication too quickly.
