Awe thank you! I knew most of them so well it was like they were my own loved ones. And it was fantastic to come in the door and have groups of residents gathered together to greet me. They made all the chaos from the staff and difficulties on shifts so very worth while. I do miss them so. Most are passed now and I can't wait to see them again in Heaven.

My great niece is an ER nurse & she loves it! She says it's never a dull moment & u never know what to expect, so it keeps ur nursing skills on point! Her mama, my niece, is an ICU nurse. I think she's about burned out due to COVID-19. I hope not, she's a great nurse with a lot of experience.

It’s sad we’ve had great nurses and Covid really did a number on their health as well not contracting Covid but just working overload was to blame because of Covid. They were begging students to become nurses because so many nurses were calling it quits while the outbreak was going on.

Nurses are awesome. I had awesome ones when I was in the hospital last year for renal failure. They made me feel comfortable as much as possible. They didn't bother me much when I was half way better when my kidneys were working better and going to the washroom to their liking, only time they came to see me is to give me my meds, or to tests, or when I was given my meals, or if I had any questions. It made their work easier knowing I was able to do things more on my own. I sure miss talking and joking with them though it made my day ok and I got to make them laugh so bonus for both sides.

I know in the past it was always during the night when they came in to check your IV that they used to always bought my bed or I would just wake up with them being near the bed and it took me forever to get back to sleep, but with me being in the hospital, always getting poked at because I’m a type one diabetic and now that I’ve had it 53 years. I’m going in for my 22nd operation and it’s going to be a double bypass open heart surgery the biggest operation that I think I’ll ever have. I know for a fact that I won’t be resting too much cause they’re always wondering how I’m feeling because of being type one diabetic.

There is some evidence that babies who are higher risk for sids have a cry that sounds different than other babies. Parents of victims have described recognizing that their baby's cry sounded higher pitched, weaker or oddly sounding compared to other infants. It is thought that a narrowed airway may be the cause but I am not certain of any other details. You can hear the baby's cry in this video sounding like this may be similar. Just something to be aware of if you are a parent.

Thank you for sharing that fact with us parents and grandparents!

There was definitely something odd about the baby's cry. Kind of squeaky and broken. I've never heard anything like it before I watched this episode. was, definitely something going on with the airway, but nothing that could be picked up on scans. Hopefully he was watched for sometime longer than 3 weeks in a neonatal unit.

when I was in high school, I was working at a gas station for one of my classes. One day a truck pulling a loaded boat trailer pulled up to the gas pump. I pumped the gas into the boat's gas tank and collected the payment. I was standing on the pump island between the oil case and credit card machine waiting for him to pull out. When he started turning to exit the station, he turned too early and the trailer wheel ran up over the pump island, over my foot, and down off the pump island. This happened in 1973. I could not walk on that foot for about a month. Nothing was broken in my foot but was severley bruised.

Watching these postings and those from North America evidence incredible differences in equipment and hospital care. No wonder thousands of doctors leave Great Britain and relocate in our part of the world. My pre-retirement role with physicians offered statements from those having relocated about their previous care world dealing with thousands of patients and limited resources.

Jane if someone doesn't like your smiling I think something is wrong! I am someone who smiles and hug's people. I found as a nurse people prefer that to a Debbie downer! Keep on smiling 😄🥰😄 The nurses at the hospital I worked at had to wear black, I didn't like it because I was a oncology nurse in a clinic setting and I think we should of worn something more cheerful. Black is more flattering 😊

I believe it is a combination of nitrous oxide and oxygen, not being from the UK, (And having watched the two seasons of the ambulance series) I was quite interested in how it's used for pain. I've been in & out of hospital myself here in Canada, I've never seen it used.

@dellahicks72312 жыл бұрын
@margiecaeter2096, I thought the same until the nurse sharing the story of her baby passing stated she was a "Sister" at one point, kind of didn't make sense at that point, so I turned to good ol' Google! Apparently a "Sister" in the UK health system is someone in charge of and running a ward. Here where I live in Canada, I believe we would call them charge or ward nurses. So no it appears they are not nuns after all.
