It wasn't tolerated by the courts, he went to prison for 6 years from like 2001-2007 for bigamy and eventually rape of a child for his 13 year old wife. He then died in 2021 from covid/pneumonia. He was not working and instead married his wives and then divorced them and got each wife to file for welfare and he would take that money/food stamps and support the entire "family". In 2007 when he was released he had told the parole board he would not remarry any of his wives and they would live separate from him. I believe 4-5 of the wives stuck by him and only one left with her kids.
