Nice comparison Blake. With what you said there's a lot of us that do want the high hp models but simply can't afford it in this economy. I feel like the 500 is a nice machine to "settle for", but your not giving up a ton except for that adrenaline we all get when mashing the throttle on a big bore. There are deals to be had on the 500, and even cheaper deals on the 400 to be had. And remember with an ECU tune the 400 really wakes up and has gains, maybe the most gains of any quad in their lineup, and could be a steal for the price vs.performance of what you get out of them for what $800 in ECU tune and clutching? Love the drag races to keep it up.

Transparency statement... 9 months ago i bought a CF400, a few weeks ago we got a second ATV (24 honda rancher EPS,IRS) Can't lie how many little features and fit and finish the CF has over the honda... from back-lit handlebar switches, to better steel racks, to EASY winch install location to a BETTER more info packed display to TWO LED rear brake lights with backup lights . Don't get me wrong, the honda SHOULD last forever but can't lie sometimes I start to think I should have saved the money and bought another 400 or even a 500.

Here in Canada cfMoto comes with a 5 year warranty and we live on our wheelers here. I bought my CFMOTO 600 new in 2021 I now have 4700 km and the only problems I've had with so far is the winch cylinoid went out and I don't think the reverse lights have ever worked. The solenoid was a pain to replace Just the location of where it was is stupid I've never had a wheeler where I haven't had to replace the winch solenoid at some point. I didn't bother taking it in for warranty work just because I didn't want to wait for the bike I've heard horror stories where they have your bike for months plus it only costs $20. I do abuse the winch a lot so not a big surprise. I was leery on buying this brand but honestly most of the parts are identical to all the other name brands the price is right and so far it's held up quite well. I'll tell you one thing I will NEVER! buy a Polaris again my 2017 was a piece of junk I had nothing but problems with that bike. Anyways as a guy that lives on a 4 Wheeler I wouldn't give it a second thought to buy a CFMOTO 4 wheeler. I cannot say the same for there S×S on some of them Mostly the earlier ones they had some bugs. But knowing this brand I'm sure they've gotten to the bottom of it by now.

one bug tough for the cforce 2024 (either the 400 or 500) is that the click'n'go bracket for the plow wont fit (kimpex dont have them for those) witch is a big problem if you already have a click'n'go snow plow!! but you can buy the bracket for the yamaha ... in canada, warranty for the yamaha 450 is 1 year, belt 10 years !!!

If I am going to put my life on the line with the product. For example guns, cars, ATVs, I am not gonna choose made in China. It's not the looks or features, it is the reliability that you need. Yamaha is a well-known product for reliability. It takes years to get that status, they earned it. You can't beat reliability over features that don't kill you if you don't have it.lols It is just my opinion.

Nice comparison. Still take the yamaha over cfmoto any day. Built better, more reliable and more robust. Cfmoto is good for someone that wants a quad for cheap and "fancy" things. Yamaha is for someone who wants reliability and comfort. Edit* also noone can compete with yamahas belt system. My 08 700 is still on the original belt with 4k miles and about 60 hp to wheels now. Compared to the 35 hp factory. Oh and my machine is on 28x10x12 all the way around.

it has certainly proven to be just as reliable as Canam and Polaris over the last 5 years. Japanese brands are definitely known for their reliability and I believe CFMOTO will prove that they are on par with them when it comes to reliability. Time will continue to tell the story though

@mattneily5507

I wish I knew exactly what it was, I believe our dollar compared to US being is a major contributor to this. But here in Canada there is virtually no difference in price, infact if you compare the 2 manufacturers msrp values, the cforce is 200$ cdn more. The only "good deal" per say are the cforce 800xc/1000, simply based on the fact there's only 3 other manufacturers with touring atvs, and to get anything from can am or polaris with the exact same features of the cforce 800xc/1000 the msrp is much higher on those 2 specific brands. I think its going to get tough for Cfmoto in Canada if Japanese manufacturers are beating them on price or staying very comparable in the largest segment of the atv market. Japanese manufacturers hardly update their models & may not win in the quantity of features category - but like the old saying goes, if it aint broke, don't fix it. Suzuki Kingquad 400 is the definition of that in the atv market, same base design for 22 years, only ever improved upon.

@Techprep23
@Techprep23 5 ай бұрын
@@Slane583it's hard to say Yamaha hasn't changed much in 20 years it's still the same 429 cc motor from 20 years ago when they updated the Kodiak from the 400 to the 450 the same thing with the Kodiak 700 and the grizzly 700 it is the same 686cc motor that has been used for the last 25 years with the exclusion of 2016 to 2018 when they outsourced because I think a tsunami hit their manufacturing plant in Japan. If it ain't broke Yamaha doesn't fix it. Single thumper engines are easy to work on and very easy to maintain the valve adjustments timing chains. Top end work is really easy. What Yamaha needs to do is come out with a V-Twin 1000cc which there's rumor that they are but the downside is they will probably price it similarly to the Polaris. Polaris sportsman XP 1000 starts at 14,000 which is absolutely ridiculous you can get a CFMOTO uforce 600 side by side for that price. And what Yamaha needs to do is come back out with the 250 like the bear tracker 250 or the timber wolf from the 90s and 2000s for those of us that just want to basic machine that can haul basic stuff. I love my bear tracker 250 from 2002 just redid the top end runs like a dream.

@@Techprep23 I'll correct myself a little and say mechanically they'll last a very long time. Even the CFMoto will last mechanically for a very long time as well when maintained properly. What will kill both the Yamaha and CFMoto early is all of the computers and sensors required to make them run. Fuel injection is nice because they don't fuss over a little bad gas as much like a carburated machine will. But once the ECU poops out in either machine it's expensive to replace. That's what I hate about Honda's utility atv's. Mechanically they're reliable since Honda went for an automotive style transmission. But the shifting is eletronically controlled by a computer and push-buttons instead of sticking with a foot shifter. The computers on those fail and are expensive to replace. I have a couple of vintage Yamaha dirt bikes, a 76 IT400 and a 81 YZ465. While both are currently in non-running condition I love them both for their simplicity. They're air cooled 2-strokes with no water pumps or power valves to worry about. There are no valves to adjust or timing chains to replace and no computers or sensors to go bad. Just simple eletrical parts to make them work. I also agree that Yamaha doesn't change when things just work. As far as IT400 goes they literally made four different bikes from the same engine platform. The MX400, YZ400, IT400 and DT400. The same goes for the YZ465. They used the same engine for the IT465 as well as the YZ490 & IT490. Plus it was used once more in the rare WR500 before Yamaha stopped trying to compete in the big bore 2-stroke scene againt Honda and Kawasaki. :)

@@Slane583why would the Yamaha be dead? I’ve beat the living crap out of my 2018 new body style Kodiak 450 never maintained it and it’s never broke 7 years later even still original battery. They could definitely easily last 20 years if taken care of. Them old atvs always have carburetor issues and run like crap but these fuel injected Yamahas crank instantly no matter what every time and run smooth.
