With this kind of tall and thick grass, I use 6 flexible blades trimmer head it is faster and smooth cut avoid hard objects such as blocks etc. Then follow up by nylon head trimmer for edges and more clean cut.

This is the kind of stuff where a big trimmer would be really nice, like your 535 or a Stihl 131 or 240. I use a ported and muffler modded Echo 410 on a 3020 shaft and trigger. It’s 42.7cc but it cuts like a 55cc

It's not a very strong trimmer, but it's also not throttled up here. I like this trimmer because it's very very light.

Ádám Nagy well the main reason he prefer that 322 cause it is the lightest 9.26 lbs. however I heard engine bogging down a lot and only have 22.5cc and 1.01hp. There new Husqvarna 525LK that weight under 10lbs like 9.92lbs and have 25.4cc and 1.34hp. That trimmer would be perfect 👌 for him. He does a lot of overgrown grasses. So I do a lot of that as well on residential and commercial properties and I use Husqvarna 525lst and same power and displacement but slightly heavier than 525LK

You will notice that I used the 223L in my earlier videos. Had mine for years till I finally blew it up. And they don't make it anymore. So I got this 322L (not a typo.) It's the closest I could find to the 223. Not the same, but pretty good.

Central NY state here. I haven't had consistent luck in hiring lawn care companies. My yard is very small. Postage stamp is accurate description. Is weed trimming typically included in a mow as a service. Or do I need to state that I want it done. Previous years it was hit or miss. Trying to become more educated.

Mel_19UZ It’s a hard bendable plastic wire. U can make it pretty long. The machine just rotates the wire very quickly. Due to the force and hardness of the plastic it cuts the grass.

You're working against the head. Trim in rotation of head, use tilts in your cuts. Gives cleaner and faster cut

Good question. For example you would want to run low throttle trimming against something delicate, like a PVC pipe. You can break open PVC pipes with these. But in open areas, yes, full throttle.

Ive been doing this for 40 years, and i wear long pants and long sleeves! You never know when theres gonna be a piece of loose metal or a yellow jacket nest! Ive hit both( yellowjackets twice ) and my protective clothing saved my hide,literally! AND I leave the guard on, and wear a helmet with earmuffs and face screen!

To add to Mikes statement, you’re really not supposed to run the machine(s) full throttle. Lawn mowers for your house for example, run them at like %75. They last a looooot longer.

To further support this, I have been all the way through small engine repair school with my certificate and nowhere in the course, or any engine manual does it say that you have to, or should run engines at full throttle all the time. Just saying, it's a myth that most people believe.

I'm using stuff called Pulverizer in the .105 size. Great stuff. Can't find it anymore. I now use twisted line from Grass Gator in the .105 size. It's like Echo Black Diamond but cheaper.
