@@paularroyo3450 I'd ask you all to watch it again, with mute on and just read the captions. Bill Maher is doing a dirty debate trick by introducing subjects in a very unfair light, forcing Steve to defend or explain the actual position he has but whenever Steve starts getting the momentum and unraveling Bills cheap trick, Bill makes a hackish remark to play for the home court before changing the subject. Whether you like Bannon or Maher should be irrelevant if your seeking a fair honest discussion. This is why I hate Real Time, it's a cheap formula designed to make Bill look smarter then he is, and he never has his world view challenged. Whenever someone else has a good honest point to make, he gets to make a cheap shot joke and shift the subject, when they try it, he cries about the double standard. It's funny how in life it's almost always the whiners that are guilty of that which they accuse others.

I am always open to both sides of any debate or discussion. The problem I always run into is if you try to explain a point that you are trying to make without being confrontational the other person always makes it confrontational when it doesn’t have to be. This generally speaking happens more with liberals/democrats in my experience. They get all dismissive and smug much like Bill did here. People have to be open to listening more instead of putting up walls and barriers because you don’t like what being said to you.

@@palmatrh Yes Bannon was pretty solid and made some great arguments. Bill's whole shtick is to ask those questions get a laugh and interrupt to keep it going so he can ask more questions and keep that kind of back and forth going which he's actually great at. I totally agree with Maher about the problem with woke people not so much being what they fight for, but the way they think there's only one true viewpoint and all others are simply bigotry/ignorance/evil that must be deplatformed from all of society. I'm a conservative and I have zero desire to have anyone, even Antifa, deplatformed (except when espousing violence or other illegal acts). If they have loser ideas, their ideas will lose eventually in the public arena, without the ideas being censored by the government or Twitter.

True in terms of populism and conformity of systems(neo-lib owned dnc/neo-con owned GOP) but the overarching question is trump actually achieving his sated goals? His main economic focus has been a failure, coal mining is half of what it was under obama and the largest coal mining company filed bankruptcy and farmers have lost hundreds of billions, its not that trump caused that but he couldn't fix it because those are legacy economies which are in direct competition with the entire developing world where most of the economy is in blue areas like tech in california. So other than taking credit for the economy he had no part in creating what has he really achieved? Just populist division on issues of immigration, race etc. Nothing thats going offset the displacement of jobs caused by automation which Yang has somewhat addressed. I was born in 1983. Bought my first house in 2003. My 18 year, who works 50hrs a week in HVAC can't even afford rent by himself. That was created by bad politicians from 2008-2016. From 16-20, things started to improve, but the devastation of our cities (by the left), has driven everyone into rural parts of the country and driven up the cost of living to a point where, we can barely afford maintenance and improvements on our homes... I literally went from considering myself a liberal, to knowing that I am a conservative, through experience, not because of what some celebrity told me that I should think.

Stanley Bannon is a master of controlling the narrative. Ask him what he was doing begging Epstein for financing (google it). Bet he’ll have a whole new narrative to deflect with. He’s got lots to say, without ever saying anything, taking both sides of nothing. Here he was both praising Trump as populist autocrat & warning of Trump as populist autocrat. Praising Sanders as a populist socialist, while warning of Sanders being a populist socialist. Zero sum game. All you are left with is frustrating agitation, feeling all the more helpless. He even hinted to the response he wanted: submit to Trump or stay home on Election Day. And the Bernie or Bust Bros complied, insuring a Trump victory

This whole thing was political which is why Nancy didn’t want to do it in the first place, but she couldn’t keep her underlings in check. Now they’ll pay the price by losing the house in November. It’s the political game. The left took their shot and they missed.... anyways, dictators don’t deal with people like Nancy and nadler or even public figures like bill Maher. Look at history. They would all be dead, as in actually murdered. You don’t have to like trump but at least be honest about what we’re dealing with

haha agreed. the fact that maher has to talk over bannon and not let him finish a single sentence, cut him off and change the topic before he finishes his point, end the segment by going back to calling him evil... hilarious to me. whats even more funny is that nobody is willing to accept/talk about the fact that the democrats have become republicans. meanwhile, Trump who was a moderate democrat his whole life is now running the republican party. when it comes to corporatism, republicans are what they always have been. there is absolutely no surprise there. the problem is that the democrats, who were always supposed to be for the little guy, have sold out to the rich corporations. thats the problem even maher's point about the farm bailouts vs auto bailouts - there are a lot of small farmers out there getting relief. the auto companies are all massive trillion dollar corporations... how much does that tell you about whose side obama and trump are on? obama bailed out the auto and banking industries, left the rest of america to rot
