jpan, I challenge you. I challenge you to tell me exactly what you gained from this segment. What did you learn? What expanded your mind in any way to improve it? What I got from it, is a "Russian expert" at the start, saying that Bill and Her were 'Comparing ourselves to Putin' before the segment started. Also, the bald guy giving Russia advice on which parts of the Country to attack, that wouldn't be part of the NATO agreement so nothing could be done about the attack on a world stage. That's what I got, because I listened. What did you get from this? If you don't answer, that's the loudest answer you could give me. I'll watch and wait to see your reply, doubtful it will ever come.

I love Julia Loffe, watched her Frontline interviews/documentaries back in 2017 and again when Putin invaded Ukraine. Do yourself a favor and watch it, it is gold. Her insight and facts is incredible. And the best part was that so many others that made similar interviews at Frontline said the exact same things. None of them are surprised by this, they expected it. Her looks when John Heilemann is making the argument that even the idea of a small error could be catastrophic. She don't buy the mistakes, she fears Putin will do this. And sounds like, that is exactly what Bill think as well. I sure hope they both are wrong, but this is definitely a crucial moment in history. This is Biden's Cuba Missile Crisis.

Bill Maher is a master at brain washing, and a hypocrite, he wants to portray him self as a liberal, however does not allow any one to disagree with him and go out of his way to get guests he would manipulate. what's going on in Ukraine is not fair to the Ukrainian people, however who is actually responsible for their suffering, in United States, as usual the other side is deprived from their narrative, it is the usual practice of United States of America, their citizens and the citizens of the western world should hear the American side of the story, the other side is evil and should be banned. Putin is a dictator and a criminal, that is granted, however what should we say about our leaders, they are toys in the hands of big corporations who are blood thirsty criminal cartels. so non of the regimes controlling this world are innocent. the world should move towards peace, however the fact that America keeps on strengthening the NATO alliance, which means that the world is moving towards mass slaughter, what is the point of NATO expansion. Russia has simple requirements, 1. NATO halt their expansion. 2. Ukraine does not join the EU. 3. Ukraine is neutral, this is not impossible and easy to do, however America is refusing all that and push Ukraine to this confrontation. Now the one trillion dollar question, who is responsible for the blood of the Ukrainians, was it Putin who wants to defend his country, the American government who instigated this problem and refused to back down, or the Ukrainian government who wants it war till the last man standing. I hope we use intelligence to think about this question and let us stop being brain washed by this orchestrated propaganda. thank you.

Exactly - so quick we forget that we had major hawks that after WWII wanted the US to use nuclear weapons to take over the world. Then Gen Curtis Lemay I think it was, and others wanted to use nukes against North Korea and China, and then Nixon wanted to nuke Viet Nam, and of course Trump probably doesn't even know what nukes are, but kept wondering why we can't use them. The US has been in a covert undeclared war with Russia since we lied to them about not moving NATO to the East. The one issue that Noam Chomsky and Henry Kissinger agree on is that moving NATO to the east is/was a very bad idea and never should have been done. Yet, we keep doing it. We siphoned 20 billion dollars to Ukraine to bring about the 2014 coup, and keep pushing to bring Ukraine into NATO - the reason was that a Rand Corporation report from the 60's I think it was said that to destabilize and overthrown Russia - Ukraine was the key. Putin knows this, we know he knows it, he knows we know ... but the stupid American people are kept in the dark.

How would this be handled diplomatically? Just give Putin what he wants?? Deny him what he wants? HOW? Didnt we see that in history when HItler took Sudentland and the rest of the world said ok you can have it. Neville Chamberlain came back with an agreement that wasn't worth shit. Hitler invaded other countries because he paid no price for doing it!! Putin has to pay a price. With his life or his position, or giving up everything he and the oligarchs own so Russia can start paying reparations to Ukraine for a couple of generations would be a start. Isolating Russia behind a new Iron Curtain sounds good too.

The United States publicly stated in 2013 that "the Memorandum is not legally binding," calling it a "political commitment." Former US Ambassador to Ukraine Steven Pifer, who participated in the signing of the memorandum, commented on the content of the document and its terms: In the English text of the memorandum there is the word "assurances", that is, "assurances of support", but not "guarantees" (guarantees). This is an important distinction. For example, our NATO allies have security guarantees. South Korea and Japan, with which the United States has joint defense treaties, have guarantees. In the case of Ukraine, we are talking about assurances. It's a less powerful word. Secondly, the memorandum did not spell out a mechanism for retaliatory actions, except for an appeal to the UN Security Council if nuclear weapons were used against Ukraine.

In order for Putin to use nukes in Ukraine, his generals and some of his military would have to agree with him on some level. It's not like he can order it and it can magically happen. Depending on the delivery, there would have to a lot of steps to launch the nuke, eg. getting the warhead on the delivery system, transporting them to the front lines, planning for the strike, authorizing it, etc. Let's just hope the rest of the military will understand what it means to using nukes and prevent it from happening. I believe during the first Gulf War, Saddam ordered the use of chemical weapons on coalition troops, and his generals refused. A dictator's power only goes far as the military is willing to support him, so we shall see...

Ex-President of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk in an interview with the German agency Deutsche Welle said that the Budapest Memorandum was only a formality, since in fact Kiev was powerless. Ukraine did not have the ability to maintain the existence of its nuclear weapons, since if the missiles were produced in Ukraine (and also required substantial funds to maintain at that time the world's third largest nuclear arsenal in a safe and combat-ready position), then nuclear charges were produced in Russia. More importantly, the entire nuclear weapons control system was in Russia and Ukraine did not have access to it: "It would cost us $65 billion (€53 billion) and the state coffers were empty." In addition, the West threatened Ukraine with isolation, as nuclear-armed missiles on the territory of Ukraine were aimed at the United States. Therefore, the only possible solution, according to Kravchuk, was to abandon weapons.

It’s immeasurably sad to have such a beautiful planet to enjoy and in all likelihood someday destroy it. The earth human beings are bound and determined to end the wonder and amazement of this thing we know as life. Ironic how we spend so much searching for life outside our planet and have so little reverence for the life we already have. I’m sickened by what I see here and if all this life has been is a test of love then I’d say we’ve failed that test. To love is to accept and create. What we’ve created with our nuclear arsenals is completely opposite of that.

NATO country or not, using a nuke sends a clear message and the response has to be proportional. We should prepare 😰.
