Some of the other haircut ASMR artists I follow use them and the scissors sounds and sounds of the hair itself being cut is amazing! Much better than even earbud microphones. The one I see being used most is “Røde”.

Another question. What about cutting your own hair? My hair grows so fast and I'm super OCD about it that I learned to cut my own hair in highschool. I am now 38 and have perfected it. It's still difficult to blend but I learned that if you maintain it weekly it's very easy. My only issue is my hair needs to be styled perfectly to look perfect. Maybe I'm missing out by not just going to a barber

It is extremely unusual to see so much scissor work.The first customer has a thick head of hair and the Master uses a thinning technique that maintains a balanced shape during the cut. The remaining cuts reenforce the same skills. Very entertaining.

At the salon where i get my hair cut, people usually say what hair style/cut they want. So maybe the client requested that style.
