Day 3 of OTJ! Apparently Burn is this deck's hard counter 😅 edit: victimize and harvest of misery aren't necessary. you can go up on collective brutality or even fatalpush. Reanimate targets can be anything you want but preferably you want atraxa and griselbrand.

I don't like in decks without DRC. During top decks, you start skipping turns especially if you have alot of sorcery speed cards

Gamble is red, that would affect your manabase more than it needs to although it can be worth trying as its 1 mana, the red entomb namesake, even then say you gamble for reanimate or a fatty and end up discarding the wrong thing you'll be timewalked.

Game 1, couldn't you discard and reanimate their titan? It was safer than hoping to mill atraxa

they were 2 lands away from casting titan and even if I didn't hit atraxa, I could've still thoughtseized my opponent that turn instead of reanimate 🙂

I have a different take on reanimator, playing Creatures 15 4x troll of khazad-dum, 2x Griselbrand 2x Vilis, Broker of blood 2x Atraxa, Grand Unifier 2x Sheoldred, the Apocalypse 1x Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant 1x Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite 1x Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant Ramp 8 4x Mox Amber 4x Dark Ritual Enablers 19 4x Faithless Looting 4x Thoughtseize 4x Reanimate 2x Unburial Rites 4x Assemble the Team 1x Demonic Tutor Finishers 1 1x Tendrils of Agony Lands 17 4x Bloodstained Mire 3x Polluted Delta 2x Blood Crypt 2x Overgrown Tomb 1x Watery Grave 1x Undercity Sewers 1x Raucous Theater 1x Underground Mortuary 1x Godless Shrine 1x Swamp Sideboard 15 4x Show and Tell 3x Deathrite Shaman 3x Orcish Bowmasters 2x Assassin's Trophy 2x Harvester of Misery 1x Titan of Industry This is the most legacy-esque list I can come up with focusing more on the combo kill and t1 vilis or griselbrand with mox ambers being the lotus petals of this deck(now that I think of that might be worth to try them out in actual legacy reanimator). While Vilis is not optimal in a Bowmaster World it does synergize pretty well with reanimate drawing you 8 cards straight from the get go. You do not want harvester main nor stuff such as fatal push given that your opening hands should be aiming towards putting a fatty t1, you'll need a specific configuration of cards to win so don't be afraid to mull down to 5 or 4. The mana base is geared towards all black producing lands, you don't really want non-black as that would mess up your spells and most of your deck is base-black so having non-black sources hurts you pretty badly. While there are alternatives to play this like Dimir reanimator I just don't think arena has enough support for a UBx shell of it and it lacks speed and payoff cards as well as Fow, Careful Study or Ponder. The 4x show and tell are vs control decks as well as anti leyline-surgical tech as well, the rest of the sideboard is essentially geared to answer some tough matchups. Also given that there is surgical in timeless you want to avoid having 4x's or 3x's even that's why the only 4x i have besides Show and Tell is troll as a land tutor and probable reanimate target on t1( the enablers and ramp you can have 4-off as it adds to the deck's consistency), you don't want to go down many wincons to it and a naked looting won't help you much. Even the manabase like the fetchlands are generally a 3 or 2ofs instead of a playset, you need to play around surgical a bit better in that regard. Unburial rites although costly can be fired from ur graveyard at a later turn if game goes long hence the utility of it if it gets countered, optimally games won't go that far but if they do then having access to it is useful. Deathrite is vs the mirror and also enables a faster clock on a game 2,3 vs any other deck, doesn't die to bowmasters and can steal the game by itself. Trophy specifically for LotV and pw's Harvester as a non-interactable removal spell for hatebears, ragavan bowmasters and other things. Titan of Industry is vs the Show and Tell mu. Surgical can be included although it is not that relevant and can actually harm your activations with vilis. Also, Vilis given that this format does not have og duals but shocks, becomes much more powerful as it can be more effective than Griselbrand at drawing cards, also is more efficient vs burn as you don't get to lose much life to get the draw. Sheoldred is pretty good with griselbrand and vilis, you can basically draw your entire deck and combo, also good vs control and brainstorm. Ghalta can get in more than one fatty from your hand and you won't need that many disc outlets by having it in your deck, even one is more than enough usually. That would be all that I can share, if they add entomb soon then you can go down a couple more lands for sure perhaps 16-15 and remove some assemble the team copies as entomb is superior and you do want 4x of that Edit: Just realized there is no Marsh Flats on Arena, my bad, so for now we'll have to go with 7x fetches(you can go 8x but do keep in mind about the manabase too, also DRS can be maindecked and reduce landcount to 16-15 but still testing this myself as just getting familiar with this format on arena)

Typically on og reanimator the landcount I played with had 14 lands 2x Bloodstained Mire 2x Polluted Delta 2x Marsh Flats 2x Swamp 2x Badlands 2x Scrubland 2x Underground Sea That was prior to LotR stuff came around and then the landscape shifted a little bit but just for context between 6-7 fetches would be my optimal choice, you could go down a scrubland for another fetch but then on sb i had serenity, wear // tear and wasteland was a thing to consider so having 1x basic swamp wasn't good enough. So translating that to arena i'd top the fetchland count to 7x max 8x and avoid non-black fetches for manabase purposes. I was thinking about this and tbh the player mechanics for timeless are not adjusting to surgicaling away fetches. Neither have I seen Stifle not enough of Delver, even though I would consider Delver to be arguably stronger than reanimator at this current state given its access to value cards and decent-enough countermagic and cantrips

I feel like reanimator is always a scam. turn zero layline is GG maybe we can get the fifteen mana emmy as a special guest in modern horizons three because this really needs a high power bomb to be worth the risk

There are ways around t0 LotV on sb like Ass Trophy Show and Tell, if ppl start to maindeck LotV more frequently then u maindeck Ass Trophy/surgical as 2x //1x if not the there's plenty of answers to it on SB on Bo3 mus
