It isn't a secret to anyone that I am a massive Reaper aficionado. In this video, I will show you how to build your Reaper on the budget, but still super OP!

We will walk through what skills you have to focus on to be an excellent Ruler, Sectopod, Berserker, Chosen or Gatekeeper slayer and how they synergize with each other. We will also see how specific weapon attachments benefit the Reaper, and what makes him so powerful in later stages of the game.

Reaper + one or more sharpshooters, it is almost to easy to win. First find an enemy, then kill them with a squadsight. As long as the sharpshooter is out of their sight, they will do nothing :P

I love the repeater weapon mod and as I have noticed it works best vs. targets that have a ton of health. Nothing feels better than seeing that sectopod die to a one hit execution, better than your favorite sweet treat :D

You could've sent a Rookie with a basic gun with a repeater installed and got that shot at the overlord. It does not depend on the soldier's stats, or the weapon, or the abilities, or anything else. It's a simple % chance of instant kill (dependent only on the repeater quality). Thus the clip does not add anything to prove your point and is merely a bragging gag.

So having extra shots with the same chance to instantly kill your target makes no difference, right? There is no difference in the overall chance to execute with a repeater when adding extra shots and extra rounds, right? I quote: "If there's a 50% chance of rain for today and tomorrow, the overall chance that it'll rain once is 75%. 100 outcomes (original) * 50% (today) + (50 dry outcomes * 50% (tomorrow)) = 75% For three days, it's 87.5%: 100 * 50% + 50 * 50% + 25 * 50% = 87.5" Source: ask.metafilter.com/133006/Calculating-Probability-Over-Several-Attempts I find it silly that I must clarify something so basic, so intuitively easy to understand.

@@QuickSaveTV You're daft and don't know how to read. OP was talking about the REPEATER shot in the first clip. That was made with Sting, not Banish. Thus all of your calculations and the attempt to talk down to OP only served to make you look like a buffoon. Yes, that build with Reaper is good, but in the context of that clip and what OP was saying, that was all the Repeater and not the Reaper. So get off your high horse.

Can I ask what kind of point you're trying to prove with that shot on the Alien Hunters boss? Maybe I'm wrong (and admittedly my knowledge of WotC is not yet where I want it to be), but that appears to be a repeater instakill - which any class can do, when given the right equipment. Am I missing something?

The video was just a live reaction from a normal shot, or rather a free shot from a skill. What makes reaper special is BANISH when used with a Repeater.

With an expanded magazine and a repeater, the Reaper can get up to 7 shots, each with a chance to execute the target immediately. That adds up to like a realistic 80% chance to execute every time you choose Banish. And if you have Annihilate as well as Banish, you can execute more than one enemy at a time occasionally. It's pretty spectacular on Reaper.

I'm with you Sean Kenny. I love the reaper and the class gets godly if specced out correctly end game and I usually end up spending most of my squad points on Reapers, but that was totally a repeater shot. I've killed the both snake and archon bosses with a repeater but each time it was an engineer shooting.

​@@damiana.3095 actually the chance for maxed mag and repeater is close to 80% because of 7 ammo and 20% insta kill chance, with the extra bonuses. this allows u to destroy any major enemy with ease and without any problem...even without insta kill it will devastate them. just make sure u r fully loaded and close to the target. i personally prefer a scope to make sure i always hit, as a bonus upgrade.

I get spoiled using the reaper that it messes me up when he is tired or hurt. Not on normal missions but on time sensitive missions where I have to plant c4 and things of that nature that is when I don't want my reaper to be sleepy lol. I can't tell you how great it is to sneak behind enemy lines with your reaper and his turn right at the c4 site and then keep your squad at a safe distance plan to c4 and extract. I've done this a few times without even having to kill anyone it makes kind of like a mini game can I do it without making a single shot

Use a Superior Focus PCS on your Reaper oddly enough. The increased willpower not only helps negate some effects but it also decreases your down time from being "Tired".

Combine a rifle with superior repeater and clip, the banish and annihilate skills and you have the harbinger of death. I once killed several aliens (including a Chosen) in one turn with this.

Banish+Repeater+Expanded Magazine+Tracer Rounds for the win. Although it should be noted that Banish is a once per mission ability, and it can fail so you'll need to use your Reaper for more than just that. And in terms of ammo, I'd consider Talon rounds if your Reaper has Soul Harvest, and Bluescreen Rounds if you know you'll be fighting mostly mechanical enemies.

If you combine the reaper ability that kills don't increase the chance of revealing the reaper( I forgot what it was called) and sting as a first shot, you can get 0% chance to be revealed for each kill you get. Put that along with soul harvest you just farm crit chance

One problem. Sting is a once per mission ability, so you only get one charge. It is not a cooldown ability like remote start.

I find the begin a bit of a lie. It was purely due to the Repeater(executed) and that's not class exclusive. That's exclusive to like, anything with a gun. Banish is powerful, but I don't think that even was Banish.

Weak all enemies enough and have a Templar with the killing spree combo skill just killing them all in one turn. Or the switch position with enemy to move out of cover that enemy. I did this to a Chosen and OMG he got bullied in one turn.

i love the reaper i have totally completed levels with one reaper. i dont like how he destroys dropped items but other then that awesome. but it reveals one weakeness if reaper does all the work and rest squad doesn't move the will still lowers on all the squad

Bad video. Showing how reaper instakilled ruler not because it's reaper with right set of skills, but because you got lucky with repeater. Further no gameplay demonstration of how good reaper is. You didn't show how he kills sectopod, or guardian or anyone. No mission gameplay videos where you demonstrate how reaper should be played. You only talk about his skillset in menu which everyone can read on their own. I can say "take squad of support class with ammo, repeater and talents Covering fire + guardian and you good to go, one of them will proc repeater. Ruler takes action after every your action, so he will be constantly under overwatch fire and die from repeater proc any time soon". Show some gameplay, show how you use your claymore + banish combo of tough enemies, show what modifications you need to use in order to success with this class. Not make whole video talking in game menu with skill tree window open and 30 sec of lucky repeater shot. That's lame

Couldn't agree more! Scouts better than Rangers. Goes loud better than Grenadiers. And the godly Banish/Superior Exp Mag and Repeater/AP rounds combo -- no other class is close

Not sure why you'd use AP rounds with that setup. I'd usually recommend Tracers or Talons instead, changing to Bluescreens if I know I'm fighting mostly robots. You don't really need AP if you have the Reaper's Needle ability (+2 AP if shot from Shadow) or you've taken the XCOM Shredder ability.

hi ! thanks for your video, had good time watching it :D same thing happened on this mission (execution!) but not with the big berserker, with the chosen who came after, litteraly appeared-> run -> vigilance of skirmisher triggered-> executed, had the same reaction :D i have some questions about mods again, i realise that you have two more that interrested me. - the one who tell you if you flank or not in the next position you take - the one who give you infos on your soldier skill (passive and active, in game). thanks for the entertainement !! Thanks, Arnaud! Alright, so the information mod is called 'Yet Another F1 Mod". It shows me all this information with the press of F1. The flanking information you'd have to use something like Perfect Information. I am currently not using anything to help me with flanks. I hold down ALT button when I need this information to make sure I see the enemy I care about as I move around. Holding ALT + Z also helps, because it does the same but also zooms the camera out.

Oh curious, if you look on your video, at the moment you engage the gatekeeper (video down the queen, 57:55) you close the door but before you trying to find a angle to flank, down the screen the target indicator have two lignes. When you move your mouse over a potentiel movement a second ligne appear up the first target preview is the name), then it shows you a yellow target or red for you new position. May be i misunderstood something :)

Oh yeah, I just checked the video, the thing you are talking about is called TARGET PREVIEW. This is the core function in original XCOM 2: War of the Chosen. Go to your Settings -> Gameplay -> Show Target Preview (line number 5) and turn it on! Also you can hold down ALT button to have it visible only when you want it to be. Have fun!

Best +4 rounds clip anx banish is the only end game offense this class have. After that he returns to the role of hidden scout with shit damage, since this class have the lowest dps of all classes. Still awesome unit for other tasks. Best hard hitters are well rolled Templar (bladestorm + fortress, and reaper if ure super lucky), Hunter. Those guys can become one man armies.

I killed the viper king and got the berserker queen down to 10 hp. After killing the viper I stopped encountering the bosses. Any idea why?
