I’m from Australia and just did a DNA ancestry test.It turns out I’ve got a DNA match with a Yarborough from South Carolina.I would never have guessed that in a thousand years..

Met Cale in 1973 In Dover Delaware as we were staying in the same motel as him, we were headed downstairs outside and he was there on the balcony and posed for pictures, great driver!

As Junior Johnson once said Cale could get more out of a car than anybody he ever saw it didn’t have to be perfect if it was off Cale would make up for it by the way he drove it. That and his hard charging style makes him my favorite driver ever.

Think Cale and Buddy Baker were the only two who gave 110 percent 110 percent of the time. GOD BLESS both of those Giants of NASCAR.

What an awesome name for a Nascar driver, "Cale Yarborough". Almost as good as "Kash Seal"! 😃

These NASCAR drivers from that era were bigger than life and they included Cale Yarborough. While today's NASCAR drivers may drive at higher speeds, the cars have better technology to match. I just prefer the 1960s - 1980s era. Drivers had steel nads. I'm a Kiwi [New Zealander] 58 and am learning all about NASCAR & NHRA from the 1960s & 1970s as I prefer that era. In single seater racing I prefer Formula 5000 and Can Am to Formula 1 that I believe has totally lost the plot - mind you did F1 ever have the plot? Drivers & team egos seem to be more important than their sport. Oh and $ of course. I also love American & Australian muscle and pony cars. The 'scene' to me defines America and American car culture. As well as hot rodding of course. Over here in New Zealand we were very fortunate to have a young automotive engineer and racing driver by the name of Bruce McLaren. What an icon of a Kiwi. The man was so much a gentleman in his day. And so was another Kiwi Denny Hulme. But this video is about Cale Yarborough so lets honor him as one of the greatest NACAR drivers of all time. Legend!

The only thing I don't like about this man is that he turned down a football scholarship to play at Clemson. But on the bright side, he turned one down for University of South Carolina as well :) Go Tigers!
