@@darrengray2309 I was clearly referring to their top notch customer service that I unfortunately did not experience with many Aussie companies to my surprise. But to go back to your point I don’t tow so I’m happy with that too if that doesn’t upset you of course 😄

Nice quality product, the 140kg towball weight needs to be looked at as it is not sufficient for 3.5t towing. Doubt it will be an issue for Andrew, but in general it will restrict people towing heavy loads.

Good Day We have had this unit tested to our local South African specifications as set out by SANS 1501-1. This is a stringent test putting the bumper through two million cycles to ensure durability. This is the same test and rating Toyota (And all other local OEM) South Africa would use for their OE fitted towbars. Our bars can be supplied with higher specifications tow hitches should they be required.

Strange how Australian towing demands 10% of trailer weight as a target noseweight, whereas UK Ifor Williams, who know just a thing or two about trailers say in their literature at least 4% and mention 140 kgf for a 3,500 kg trailer.

When I saw the silver cap (which I've since found is for the trailer plug) I thought they'd added a water tank... I wonder if that's ever been done before? Might not have a large capacity but I think you could get 20-30L at least in there... Might not be the ideal location for extra weight though?

I agree with a couple of the other commenters. Given the tow rating for the vehicle.. the towball download seems light and could restrict the towed mass. Was this intentional given Andrew doesn't tend to tow a camper trailer or boat? Other than that though - wow, what a well designed and practical assembly!

Nice video and nice bumper! What do you think of LC78 with 4.0 1GR-FE Engine Single VVT-i (Gasoline)? Would a Troopy running this engine perform well in sand dunes? Or it might be under-powered? LC70 usually comes with this engine in GCC. Thanks

They're everywhere, except in Australia. 3 or so weeks ago, I sent them an inquiry (through their website) about their 80 Series front bumper, as I like its design. I was asking for pricing and delivery to Australia (or if they have a distributor here). I'm yet to hear back. So unsure if their website has an issue capturing inquiries, or their customer services is terrible.

This is the same test and rating Toyota (And all other local OEM) South Africa would use for their OE fitted towbars. Our bars can be supplied with higher specifications tow hitches should they be required.

I would like the sides to come to the wheel arch like with the 76. The bumper (like the original) looks so incomplete on the sides, drives me crazy.

@@4xoverland in the video commentary it said the Gobi X rear bar was available in Australia. It was stated that this same brand (Gobi X) was fitted to your last Land Cruiser build in Australia. I can’t seem to locate a distributor here in Australia for Gobi X rear bars?

The gobix rear bar has a fault. Dust mud grime and water builds up in the tail light compartment and has no way out.

I’m sure perfection isn’t a human quality but the issue you mentioned is partially incorrect, you can easily wash off any thing that manages to get into that area as cut out hole is mad right under the light and a gap is left in the furthest corner to make sure nothing gets deposited there. Not washing the vehicle straight after a muddy trip wouldn’t help though.

What a shitty rear bar only has 140kg limit on the towball for a 3.5t tow limit. Think I'll stick to my Australian made Kaymar rear bar with double the ball weight limit.
