REAR SPEAKER REPLACEMENT IN 2017 CHEVY MALIBU 2.0T

Installed a pair of Polk Audio DB 692 in replace of my rear deck bose speakers. I hope you all enjoy and let me know if you want to see more car content!

@@Mapp2004 no problem! I’d definitely look for different speakers than what I recommended in this video though. They were better than stock but still not that great but maybe I just needed an amp to have them reach their full potential 🤷🏼‍♂️

Dude is the new speaker supposed to sound worse than oem? I hooked it up to a house stereo and it sounded amazing. Can the Malibu stock amp not handle good speakers? And if so how do you rectify that? Someone please help me

New speaker is definitely supposed to sound better! I’d definitely look into getting an aftermarket amp, that will make a huge difference!

Not crappy at all, so I’m doing a whole crazy system and the subwoofers i have don’t fit and I need to remove the 6x9 so the box can fit maybe. Thanks dude.

At least for the box to slide in in a angle I need to remove them, I probably won’t use them so I’ll leave them out for now, I upgraded the door speakers

Wazup… I got a question ……I have a 2014 Chevy Cruze and I want to install 6x9 in the rear deck. But my car came with no speakers in the back. But there are holes where the speakers go… but the actual carpet panel doesn’t have the holes. Do u make the holes or just leave it the way it is and install the speakers just like that .

You can definitely install the speakers without cutting a hole being that the material is pretty thin. As long as the material isn’t touching any part of the inside of the speaker if that makes sense!

If there isn’t pre-existing speakers, there won’t be any wires

I was exploring this, and just realize my 2024 has the speaker holes in the rear deck, but no speakers. Did they rip me off from the factory? 2024 Malibu LT 🤯

@@jestephens LT probably just doesn’t come with them as an option/wasn’t optioned for the specific one you bought. Do you have the Bose sound system for the rest of the speakers? That could also be why, if you don’t have the Bose sound system then it probably just doesn’t come with rear deck speakers

How did you get the rear deck cover off. I removed the 3 plastic plugs, but besides the front coming loose, the rest doesn't budge.

At first I just lifted it up enough to get the speakers out but I found out it was just tucked into the back and sides super tight and was able to get it out.

Where can I get a replacement rear deck cover?? The previous owner cut holes in there unnecessarily I tired the window to cover it but it still looks bad

Mine too I think you have to run those wires to the stereo since there’s no existence ones in the rear decks , but if you get a good loud enough speaker it should be fine to ,you wouldn’t have to get two more but if you want more sound then by all means go for it just be careful because you might have to upgrade head unit aka stereo and possibly get amplifier for extra wattage so it’s not draining your battery . ✌️🙏God bless!

I didnt mess with any wiring i just used the factory wires and then some wires came in the box with the speakers.

Look up the size on the door speakers and then just look up that same size speaker but try to find a Bose version
