Well stated and thanks for sharing your observations. I am a Vietnam vet and very much like the wall. The racial hatred shown by those who opposed the wall are simply a mirror of what we continue to be today. We are a racist society and it appears, sadly, we always will be.

A beautiful memorial, deeply personal to those who want to offer their respect. The fact that it almost didn't happen be cause once identified, her race and gender raised opposition, is absolutely sad.
