7 years later from when this video was posted, why is this just so amazing. I have been struggling with this skill for years and now this is the simple way of doing it. I never really write comments but I had to in this video. I never even understood the triangles. This made it much simpler! Thank you!

I'm a trainee science teacher (biology), and I must say this had made my life a million times easier. I was concerned at how I can make equation re-arrangement easier especially for my mid-lower sets (as well as my top sets) and this is going to be a life saver. Thanks so much. I will pass on your vid to my colleagues on my course. That way, we can ditch those bloody triangles and make life easier for our kids. Thank you so much!

@ChrisThorntonUK4 жыл бұрын
First square both sides, so (Kva)² = 3vi Then you can just move the 3v under the left hand side as I show you in the video :)
@andescosmico30163 жыл бұрын
This is amazing. Every high school child knows what this video shows. It is the most simple thing. The worst thing about this video is that it doesn´t explain why equation rearrangement is done the way this video shows. It is a very simple idea: If you have an equation x=y, in order to get another true equation, whatever you do to x you have to do the same thing to y. For example: if you have x/y = z+k and you want what z is equal to, you simply subtract k from both sides (x/y)-k=(z+k)-k which gives (x/y)-k= z. If from x/y=z+k you want to know what y is equal to, you simply have to multiply left and right sides by y to get x=(z+k)y, and then divide both sides by (z+k) to get x/(z+k)= y.
@Mujiboy2 жыл бұрын
For the first part, you don't really cancel it from both sides you simply move k to the other side, other than that pretty good explanation.

I'd like to be a science teacher and I was wondering what route you took to be able to teach all three sciences at GCSE and A level-many thanks
@ChrisThorntonUK6 жыл бұрын
I got a degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering, then went back to university for another year to do a Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE). Strictly speaking I'm only officially qualified to teach all three sciences to KS3 level, and Physics to A-Level, however due to staffing and timetabling issues schools I've worked at have often needed me to teach GCSE Chemistry and Biology too. I still have to do more research for those subjects when I teach them, to make sure I'm getting things exactly right, but a lot of GCSE Biology and Chemistry is just an extension of the KS3 work, so it's manageable. I think I'd struggle to teach anything other than Physics at A-Level though.
