Linda Bostoen Traitor to my own race?? Let me tell you something; I am Irish. A Gael. I also happen to be European. But i am not white, and the continent has nothing to do with us over here. That stupid umbrella term is frankly only useful in American history. The Irish were one of the first people's subjugated by Europe's colonial powers. My ancestors suffered through centuries of destruction and humiliation, which was justified because it was believed that we were backward and primitive and so brought it all on ourselves. I didn't see the rest of Europe tell the Brits that they were betraying their own race then. And yet, in the present day when Gaelic culture is at its last breath, the only people who show any appreciation for it are foreigners, usually non european. They put their kids through Irish language schools and get involved with the parishes. Perhaps mainland Europe has more of a problem because your arrogance stirs up old tensions. So you can keep your preconcieved problems with people's skin colour to yourself. Personality and culture determine behaviour, not skin colour. Gtf over yourself.

There are 6 Celtic Countries, or perhaps 7 Galacia in Spain. It is interesting how people in the Celtic Countries and people who visit, many do not speak the Celtic language as it is part of the Culture. It could enhance the lives of everyone who lives in the Celtic Countries and people who visit to learn the Celtic language. It is non linear, the Anglo language is linear The Ogham script may be similar to 8 Ancient Trigrams invented 4000 years ago. When people who visit the Celtic Countries and use the Anglo language to say they live there, one does wonder if they understand, to live in a Celtic Country the Celtic language is the key. It is similar in other Countries whose language is non linear. Go raibh mhaith agat alig, as Tir Celtica.

Before ireland became christian the irish used to worship a serpent god called crom cruach who was the god of the underworld. So when its said saint patrick drove out all the snakes its meant that he drove out all the pagans.

@macker337 жыл бұрын
Oh right, because calling yourself wiccan makes all the difference. Any reason in particular you cant be normal like everybody else?
@brujo_millonario7 жыл бұрын
What's wrong with being different and having a personality? What's "normal" to you anyway here in the Western World? Being Atheist or Christian? People nowadays are an army of cheap slaves; all believing (or not believing) in the same things, all wearing the same clothes, all with the same stupid haircut, all getting out to work at the same time, having lunch at the same time, going back home at the same time, all fanatic of the same sports, all with the same addictions, all laughing at the same jokes, etc. You don't learn anything new by being part of the "army"; you just get stuck into the same habits and you never progress past mediocrity. Always in fear of what is new and different; all that could possibly get you out of the rut. A perfectly predictable brainwashed sheeple ready to serve until discarded like an old tool. So isn't it sad, to be a "normal" person?
@MsAsh30706 жыл бұрын
Honestly, regarding the racism element...I don't really agree that Ireland isn't really that racist. For the most part, you're not gonna hear racist comments to your face because people are pretty polite in public and don't want to create a scene. However behind closed doors it can be a different story - particularly with the aul ones. The grannies in particular could be so nice to your face and then behind closed doors, they'll be spouting off all this racist shit to their families. And it also helps that you live in Town where there are more people of colour living. Down the country where there aren't as many POC living, it's a good bit more racist because people are more basing their opinions on stereotypes and what they're hearing through media. I think maybe in Europe there's also that somewhat unique thing where unlike in America, racism isn't just literally black and white. Like the discrimination that Eastern European face here is absolutely crazy. I actually think there's more everyday racism targeted towards Eastern Europeans than there is towards African people. Idk though, I'm not keeping a tally or anything but that is the general impression I get.
@AngelaSealana5 жыл бұрын
Wow, that's really sad to read.

Ash Cash No we are not a racist country. As you correctly said, there are racist people everywhere but there would only be a very small number of idiots here that are racist. Most people don’t care what race you are here. As an African American you will be warmly welcomed :) Historically we have a lot in common with African Americans in that we were invaded (and some of us were enslaved), not allowed own land, not allowed speak our native language and thought of as being inferior. That’s all waaaay back in the past though and people have moved on. If you read up on some Irish history you’ll probably find it interesting!

If you actually go as far North as Northern Ireland as a PoC you are the least suspicious person there, it’s the other white people everyone is worried about. Like stated before yea sure you get racist people everywhere but it’s only a few idiots here and they’re mostly kept in check by their friends telling them to their face they are idiots. One example there’s a guy my Dad had friended on Facebook who kept posting anti Islamic BS about them all being terrorists etc, and he said to him he’s one to talk since he’s only free to post anything on Facebook because they let him out of prison under the Good Friday Agreement, part of which was they let all ‘political prisoners’ go which is a nice way of saying let the IRA as well as the loyalists terrorists out no matter what they where in for.

have you ever tried to fake an Irish accent while talking to someone there and you talk so long that you end up talking in a proper Nigerian accent. like if you agree. it happened to my friend. #speed talking goals # hilarious

You will experience racism at some point, it's sad but don't take it to heart the Irish experience the same thing in the UK and Australia etc, you're a credit to Ireland.

Quit being an idiot. Just because the Irish experienced racism in the UK doesn't mean she will experience the same in Ireland. That's just twisted logic. You made yourself sound stupid here.

@Hello Again The Irish aren't "to the point" when talking, pretty much the opposite. English, Germans, Swedes, Danes, they certainly are. The Irish are more like the Italians and Hispanics, that's why some English think Irish are liars.

Yes dear. but can Irish people move back to Ireland ? You don't know the meaning of the word English, it has over fifty different tongues 75% is Hebrew the word Brit-ish is also Hebrew, and means Covenant-Men, the Covenant between Abraham and Yahweh I am the son of an Irish King young lady, and the land downunder is the only land in the world that has never even had snakes NZ the land of the Kiwi
