Warm air can absorb more water than cold air, so rain ( the point where too much water is in the air) happens less frequently in arid(dry) regions and more frequently in humid(wet) regions. And we take it for granted because we know that coal releases CO2 and in the last 200 years there was more coal burned than ever. Something quite interesting btw: Ice from the Arctic has tiny air bubbles inside, so you can be able to analyze the composition from air that's thousands of years old. If you put it on a graph where the x-axis is the year and the y-axis is the amount of CO2, you are able to see an increase in the high time of Greece and in the time of the Roman Empire. And do you have any evidence to support your claim regarding the storms? Because I couldn't find anything about that.

@@BlackMasterRoshi Mate, it's just basic science and logic; -The climate is warming up too fast essentially because of carbon dioxyde. The vaste majority of carbon dioxyde, that cannot be eliminated or stocked without harming anything, has been and is still produced by us, going up in the atmosphere warming up the planet because it is trapped. -Molecules of water dilate when they warm up therefore they take more space, which leads to the water invading the land. -The icecap and glaciers are ices that are on land, so not accounted into the current level of water in the oceans, and they are progressively melting because of the heat. In 2060, worse case scenario (and most plausible if we don't do anything): +3°C. Meaning icecaps and glaciers melting even more and even faster + the oceans warming up, all of that will lead to a clear rise of the oceans everywhere. Therefore, a lot of places not far from the oceans will end up flooded. Now for your example, the Maldives. First, it changed in twenty years, it's not because you personally refuse to see it that it didn't. Second, the authority of the Maldives said it themselves, the erosion and the sea level rising is fucking them up. 80% of the country could be inhabitable in 2050 because of all of that. Yes, in the 70s climate scientists were saying we were entering a global ice age within a generation. The prediction success rate has obviously been not great. That includes the current global warming predictions, they’ve been quite off. The truth is climate is an immensely complex system and has always fluctuated dramatically over long time periods and within those had cycles of warming and cooling. It’s such a complex system it is dishonest to say they understand all the variables involved or how they interact or even that they know what all the variables are. I think measures to be environmentally friendly are great and we should work toward them but they should be reasonable and not imposed in authoritarian/totalitarian ways. Currently ‘science’ has been hijacked to promote other agendas and profits/increased taxes.

We have had a war of resources (like oil), but something funny might happen. We might have fusion plants that can start in an energy revolution that can be so radical that perhaps it could be seen as another industrial revolution. The best thing about fusion is that there is no risk of meltdown and no greenhouse gas output. As soon as we are able to build them cheaper and more efficiently is when the climate looks a lot better.

Nuclear might've been good for transitioning away from coal & gas. But building new nuclear reactors isn't feasible. "The new generations" still aren't working for mass scale (more research is always good tho) and the old ones (uranium) are running out of fuel at the current rate in a handful of centuries. It's not a sustainable, renewables energy source. Besides, many countries still don't have a final disposal site. Building new reactors takes centuries and costs incredibly much and we don't have that time. Renewables are getting cheaper and cheaper. They're also not perfect but the best out of the bunch. Yes, nuclear is far less harmful than fossil fuels. It won't fix climate change though. That's kurzgesagt propaganda.

Something they know and secretly consider a good thing that will drive down overpopulation. Never mind it will come at the cost of the poorest people on the planet. Then come to Denmark and watch it happening. Cause that's what we're doing. Living about 150 meters from Roskilde Fjord as we do it's easy to see it happening. Nobody here are doubting cause we're watching the water rising very slowly but in a very constant manner. More than 90% Danes voted in favor of climate friendly parties last election. Why? Cause nobody here are living more than 55 (34.2 miles) from the sea so all of us in Denmark can see it happening. We're losing land to the rising sea and no, it's not because Denmark is sinking. Denmark is still rising from the huge Ice Cap that used to be here during the last Ice Age. Very many Danes go to Greenland every year for different reasons, some were born and raised there, some are working there. They're all telling about disapoearing ice. How many do you know who go to Greenland every year? Let me guess, none. OK, the 12 inches sea level rise seems as very little but the oceans are pretty big which means that it's a lot of water when added and the wawes are coming in. It's scary to witness what has happened the last 60 years since I was 12 and started to be aware of pollution and climate. Yes Lyndon B. Johnson was warned by scientists in the 60's but the Oil/Gas Industry (and probably most of the democrats, not Ted Kennedy) silenced the scientists who tried to tell the truth.

If current concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere doubled, and was constant, there will eventually be no ice at the poles; just like it was in the past with .07 percent and above. With no ice, sea level is about 60 metres higher than it is now. Not good for the third of the world’s population that live on coastlines especially those in the biggest coastal cities. Also there would be periods of moderated seasonality and less seasonality with no ice at the poles hence climate and weather patterns too unstable for outdoor industrial agriculture. None of the staple crops we rely on would be possible in such a high ppm.

@hackerman hack Sorry, those scare tactics don't work anymore. Those claims of the end of the world are now no different that chicken little saying the sky is falling. Good luck with that narrative. CO2 is good for the earth. Everyone knows that.

Unfortunately we are hostages to a media who are totally onboard with pushing the world is ending in x amount of years agenda. These idiots were warning us about the global ice age back in the 70s.

Fear is a good motivator to act on a danger. If you're not scared of the climate crisis, you haven't been paying attention. Or you just don't mind the immense dangers that come with it.

@@teamakesgames I'm wary about the climate, but in no way afraid or panicking because the science is anything but settled about its effects. You clearly ascribe to the totality of the climate alarmism, I however have seen too many inconsistencies in the narrative to definitively accept commonly-assumed beliefs on the matter. I've found it's best policy to not readily believe someone who can't get his story straight. You use fear to react to a predator threatening your life, not to make sense of dynamic systems you still don't fully understand. www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/psych-unseen/202007/how-does-fear-influence-risk-assessment-and-decision-making Fear is antithetical to rational, sound decision-making, so if effective environmental policy is your goal then the last thing you should be doing is attaching an alarmist agenda to it. Keep pushing fear and this is what will happen: Harsh environmental regulations and restrictions will stall large parts of the economy that aren't in a position to cope with them. Businesses will react by shutting down or downsizing, both of which will lead to disastrous ripple effects throughout the economy, including job losses across the board (the pandemic showed us just how intertwined different facets of the economy can be, making the notion of a "non-essential" business or industry completely moot). Most likely outcome will be economic recession, with a long road to recovery considering the fallout of lost entrepreneurship from extreme policy changes. When/if said economy recovers, not only will any ongoing developments in newer/cleaner technologies have been mothballed, any new environmental policy will face even more severe backlash given the negative connotation now attached to it. That's what will happen if you keep using fear tactics and alarmist rhetoric (not to mention tarnishing your own credibility)

This is what I know. I am 44 years old and have been told "we have 12 years left" for various reasons for my entire life. In early grade school in the mid 80s I was told that a new ice age was going to result in plummeting temperatures, food shortages by the 1990s, and glaciers covering the norther U.S. and Europe by the 2010s. In the mid 80s we were going to run out of oil. This would disrupt food production and cause mass starvation by the early 00s. In late 80s Acid Rain and the Hole in the Ozone were going to kill us all in ten years. The acid rain was going to poison the land, and when the ozone layer was gone the sun's radiation was going to cook the earth. Crops wouldn't grow, and everyone was going to starve. By the early/mid 90s we had 12 years left due to Global Warming. The global temp was going to rise between 1.5 and 3.0 degrees Celsius disrupting food production, and rising sea levels would drown our coastal cities and causing islands all over the world to sink below the ocean waves. A decade later, by the mid 2000s we had 12 years left due to Climate Change. They had to change the name because the warming they were predicting didn't happen, but we still had only 12 years due that minimum 1.5C rise in temp! Oh, and the sea levels didn't go up nearly as fast as predicted, nor did any of those islands disappear. The global elite and governments keep preaching because its all really about control. Specifically control of all the little people they don't want to see in their world.

You're spot on with the 'scares' thrown at us through our lives. I'm over 20 years ahead of you, so I've had a few more warnings of the'end of days'. It gets to the point where you realise it's the lunatics that are running the asylum.
