Beyond proud of Rebeca, she keeps getting better and better and working so hard. I LIVE for her putting Brazilian gymnastics in the forefront like this!!

The compression on her inbars despite it being a new skill for her and her age is insane. There are very few gymnasts who have competed inbars with that level of compression. I’m nearly speechless.

I actually did when I was 12 and 13 years old when I trained with Tracee Talavara and many other Olympians and National Champions from around the world. I had beautiful form 🏅 And when I'd learned free hip circles; toe on, toe off dismount; and stalders on the uneven bars, I was enjoying the sport so much. I also loved doing giants. Then, the constant drizzle outside and not taking a break after the competitive season exhausted me. Also, I lived with at least one gymnast who had bulimia. This was at NAAG! I wish that I had more than one cassette tape of my doing gymnastics. This comment is highly uncharacteristic of me. I am normally modest. However, I think that "You are a Badass" will be my next read. I have struggled with conditions since childhood. Things took a tremendous turn for the worse because of an accident when I was only 20 years old. I am now 54.

I'd assume so! But it sounds like she's taking a break from floor so it doesn't look like she'll compete AA this year - just VT/UB/BB.

@@guttocg Some gymnasts opt to skip the Worlds that come after the Olympics since it is an individual competition without a team final. If you've looked back at the 2005, 2009, 2013, 2017, and 2021 Worlds that a lot of the top gymnasts are not in attendance.

@jesuspalomo5143 I don't think Suni is coming back..she moved to NYC and is not returning to college or her elite gym currently. Not sure about Nina D or Eli Seitz but...as they've been in atleast 2 or 3 olympics...don't think they are likely to return but who knows. Kaylia Nemour I'm not sure about and the Chinese gymnasts will ALWAYS be top contenders..

I think she's aiming a Komova II to replace her maloney or an inbar-1/2 before her piked jaeger. Since she'll most likely give up on the all around I expect she'll bring up her game on uneven bars (maybe all in the same routine, I mean the fabrichnova, the Komova II and inbar-1/2 😮😮😮 Alexandrov would be very proud LOL).
