I love the music that begins to play at 0:12, it really marks the climax of the scene. Also love how she runs to hug him at 3:07. All of of their hugs are so sweet, the ones at 4:20 and 4:33-35 are my favorites, they look so cute in those moments... I simply love that scene.

Beautiful moment-- 8:30 In her Fancy Dress, walks down the stairs in eager anticipation of the surprise she is about to deliver. You can even see it on her face. In the book, at this moment, she had a member of the band announce her presence as "Ms. Caroline DeWinter!" -- also-- she changed into a blue dress and stayed the whole night at the ball.. miserable and unspoken to maxim. It was to be the happiest night, their official engagement party. Quickly turned into misery.

Eyre left Rochester because he already had a wife and she had character and principles. Her thinking is, "How long until he gets tired of me as well?" He wants him to truly value her and prove herself in the world. She was very wise, though she almost lost him.

There is a strong suggestion in the book that Danvers was in love with Rebecca, and you can see it here. I think Rebecca was just using Danvers the way she did everyone else, and Danvers was in denial about it.

@AlliyaandRaza It doesn't say in the book that she is plain-looking, but rather that she thinks she is plain. That is quite different. It is more that she is modest and not flashy in her beauty like Rebecca was. She is supposed to be a pretty, young girl - exactly like Joan Fontaine!

i don't know about that... remember she had to work for the mean lady that hired her as a paid companion in the begining of the story. THAT woman had to pay someone to put up with her -lol! so she had it up to her neck with all these mrs. danvers-freaks in her life. so yea she decided to take control. one doesnt always need a man's love to give one confidence. we as humans can get strength from an overall life experience.

@nineczek Mrs deW is supposed to be plain-looking, even homely. Fontaine wasn't, and Leigh certainly not. In the '40's an actress would never wear makeup that made her look homely. We're more naturalistic now.

Okay, what is the deal her this story has no lesbian relationship that is not unless you assume it for some strange reason? Mrs. Danvers brought Rebecca as a child, and she influenced a lot of people in good and bad ways. I'd get the facts before I stated in false assumations.
