Well the book is pretty old... hahha, yeah, nothing new. but its still really good. And the movie.... well theres lots of versions. It's been made a lot in different years. but my favorite is the 1940 one :]

That's like saying a novelist isn't creative because their characters are all distinct and well-defined, rather than being husks for the reader to imprint themselves on. There's more than one way to tell a good story.
