Being vegetarian outside India is really tough. Vegetarian foods in west taste like tears. I am glad I live in India, here vegetarian food is tastier than meat (If cooked nicely).

Indeed. Living in Singapore and you hv to literally look for pure veg. Food here. Mostly we cook at home.. no choice..!!

@tintuu very true. They even use fish oil instead of vegetable oil and eggs are considered as veg here... so everytime one has to be extra conscious if he/she is pure veg.

@Ponga Pandit If you live in a place where there are still a lot of Indians, then you could have plenty of options. But if you are living in a place where there are no Indians, then it can be really hard.

he talks of ancient india... modern india is a mixture of western and eastern philosophies... indians too hav started using western toilets, some use sophisticated cutlery, many use non sticks pans etc , not everyone does yoga everyday some dont even do yoga...modern india has lost much of its ancient practices..:(( meanwhile in usa, some people have started to adopt some of the ancient practices of india like yoga etc.

My parents regularly drink Indian concoction which we Indians call 'Kaadhaa' & because of having that since their childhood, they're immune to fevers like cold & cough. i recently learned that eat meat of an animal which has emotions can directly influence our mental health .while killing an animal their anxiety ,tension(they release a lot of acids and chemicals) increases .so by eating that our mental health effects depression and anxiety) .i am trying to reduce meat after knowing this.

Most of the things mentioned about India is about yesterday. Having westernized itself, people particularly in urban areas are following the same practices as in the west. How many drink water from a matka or not use gas for cooking? Instead of claiming the incorrect to be true, it is more useful to educate Indians to go back to some of its earlier healthy practices.
