Indigenous poet Rebecca Thomas's piece, We are Gathered, honours those who died at residential schools - and shines a light on the painful legacy left behind for the survivors' and their descendents.
Her poem was created for the first National Day of Truth and Reconcilation as people gathered to reflect on the need for ongoing reconcilation in Canada.
As families gather this weekend, there is still plenty to reflect upon.
