At first she was obviously offended because another woman was trying to tell her how to take care of her child. Then she realized she needed to be educated and she was willing to learn. Love this, and wish more people were willing to learn instead of staying ignorant.

The other mother was wrong for answering with passive agression. No one is OBLIGATED to introduce their child to you, nor are they supposed to be comfortable with you watching over him without their knowlege. Im glad that mom told her whats what, and that no matter the skintone she IS his mom. If the other mom didnt speak in that tone the initial interaction wouldnt have been so tense.

It's a cultural difference and they were both wrong, she doesn't need to apologise. They were both in the wrong. If some other women told you how to look after your child you would react the same way if not worse regardless of colour. That "white woman" is reacting within normal means. When she came to ask for the barber snd advice is her way of "admitting defeat" and apologising as she knows it's shameful for her to do so but did so anyway for the sake of her child and the other lady knew it. She accepted her apology in the form of saying yes and having a conversation with her.
