This was such a triumph! I loved this dessert! But here is what I recommend if you try it. Actually follow the directions on the box and put the oven on the right temperature. LOL. Sometimes I am such a ditz. Also, the cake is just a tad bit too sweet for me. If you put less sugar in the apple mixture it would be just as tasty. I would put more cream cheese in the frosting and a tad less sugar. Empty cake mix into medium bowl. Follow box directions (optional to replace water with milk and oil with butter for a fluffier cake) set aside. 2. Peel 1 or 2 apples, dice & rinse with cold water. Set aside. 3.Heat 1 1/2 Sticks of butter on medium heat~Stir in 1 cup of brown sugar~Add two Tablespoons of flour~Add 1 Tablespoon of Cinnamon~Add 1/2 cup of oats~Stir in apples~cook until apples are tender. Set aside. 4. Get a 9 x 13 cake pan, coat with butter & dust with flour~Pour in cake batter. 5. Spoon apple & butter mixture onto the batter in dollops~Swirl or fold into batter lightly. 6. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes~Let cool 7. Make icing: Mix together 2 cups of powdered sugar, 5 Tablespoons of milk, 1 teaspoon of Vanilla & 1/2 cup of cream cheese. 8. That sounds like a fun time! Remember to make adjustments to the recipe. I think I wrote it down in descriptions or in my pinned comment. Also, cook up the apples before you mix up the cake mix. Someone advised me of that and I thought it was pretty smart.

Looks yummy! I add a bit of sour cream and use lemon instead of milk . This makes the cream cheese mix less sweet and makes it a bit more tangy. That is my go-to 😊.

Rebeccaa! This looked SO delicious. I was smiling while you took it out of the oven. Also, I love your voice overs, you are just so hilarious without even trying. You did a great job even if you're not an expert at baking! I'd love a piece of that cake honestly. Just a friendly pro-tip: if you are making something for the cake batter that requires some time (cooking/melting/cooling), like the apple sauce in this case, it's good to have that done first before mixing up the cake batter. Setting aside the cake batter out after mixing can cause the baking soda and such to activate and will result in a dense texture since the cake won't rise properly. If you're immediately baking the cake after mixing though, it's all good! Just wanted to give you a lil hack :) 💛

Love your cooking videos Rebecca. I watched the short version of this one many times. When I saw the Fabulous apple peeler/corer/slicer I had to go online to find one, which I did yay! That's a great tip for keeping the apples from going brown ɓy the way! Also, I always crack eggs into a separate bowl as I get egg shells everywhere! Lol. Thank you for another gem. 😂😅❤😛😋♥️
