I fell away from Christ several years ago, but I used to absolutely love Rebecca and her music growing up. I am now a believer again! For me it is baby steps, i am catholic! But growing up. My family didn’t do nothing. So I was not much of a believer. But the Smallbone family is slowly opening my eyes. I love their music, specially seeing the movie “ UNSUNG HERO.” now I just got there Christmas CD. LOVING their CD. Beautiful song. I remember in the early 2000s, I had a phone interview with Rebecca St. James ahead of a concert in the area. She has always been an artist to give thoughtful reflection to her songs and otherwise. I remember her asking if she could pray with me on the phone. I've interviewed many Christian artists and other performers. I believe it was the first time someone specifically asked if they could pray with me and for me. It was something I do not hear many artists actually do in a phone interview specifically. Caring, great singer and great new music.

I can't even begin to explain how this song has blessed me. I've been ill for a couple of months now, and lately it seems like there is no end in sight. Lots of setbacks. But I truly believe that the Lord gave me this song to show me he is here. He is listening and healing, despite my trust issues, pain and weakness. The moment I heard the first couple of lines, I literally broke down in tears. The lyrics of pain and exhaustion are literally words I've cried out time and time again. Crying out for healing, or just trying to hold onto hope for breakthrough. But more than that, the joy of the line, "You are faithful and You bring the dawn" just brings me such peace, and I remember that this current circumstance is not my new reality, nor my end. Rebecca, Your music has been the soundtrack of my life since before I can even remember. My sister and I grew up singing and dancing to your songs, which will forever be some of my most cherished memories. "Wait For Me" was on constant repeat in my teenage years as I dreamed about the man I would marry someday. "Beautiful Stranger" became an anthem through several missions trips with my church. Several of your praise songs encouraged me as I grew in my faith, and "You Are Loved" comforted me when I watched my sister fall away from her faith. But now, at 27 years old, I now have "Dawn" as I face the unbearable weight of infertility. I saw you at Kingdom Bound just this past July, where I heard it for the first time. I was struggling so deeply at the time and as soon as you started singing, I felt a little less alone. I felt like God was wrapping His arms around me and letting me know that He heard me in my desperation. I listen to Dawn several times per day now and it has become a huge source of comfort for me and my husband.
