One of the best improvised live guitar solos you will ever hear. Today I was at the produce stand near my house and I heard Black Dog playing on somebody's phone. I looked around to figure out who it was and it was a 10ish-year-old African-American girl dancing away to Led Zeppelin. If that doesn't show you the range of people that they affect, for 54 years and counting, I don't know what else it would take. Truly amazing.

I guess you know now why the 70's is the absolutely greatest era ever in the history of music......end of story. This is what we listened to every day among a plethora of mind-blowing and soul-searching compositions from morning to midnight......as whatever was your pleasure for the moment. We lived life like each day was worth discovery and it was fantastic to be alive. You can dig deeply into the 70's music and never tire of it......regardless of the band or genre. You would not believe my album collection......you would just not believe it. Steven from Texas.

@@PeterTea yep, the stairs down to his vault is the real stairway to heaven. I picture the shots of Jimmy playing “ramble on” from “it might get loud”… in a basement surrounded by vintage amps, guitars, and god knows what else. At first I wondered if that was a set created for the film, but the caption says, “London” and with the other scenes of him listening to “the rumble” surrounded by his record collection, it’s clear that they filmed at jimmy’s tower house… and that basement is 100% real. 😳

LZ's versions of prog rock are never "cold" or "tricky"... they still hold melodies, riffs, builds, logical rises and falls.. so they become so pleasurable to listen to.. as well as being able to be so "on the edge" or avante garde... I think it's JPJ's influence of classical music that roots it all.

They didn’t take place on the other nights, but the slow burning in the beginning of the guitar solo to that absolutely fantastic and with the keyboard flourish with the drums and guitar perfectly aligned.
